  • Publication number: 20230386658
Abstract: A web-based interface enables medical personnel to remotely monitor medical devices. A monitoring system records operational data and alarms from the medical devices in a file. However, since network connections between the medical devices and the monitoring system are intermittent, the file does not contain a contiguous stream of data for each medical device. The file pauses recording during gaps in network connectivity. The system displays current data, as well as a list of alarms. If medical personnel wish to view more detail about an earlier time or one of the alarms, the system calculates where in the file the medical device data was recorded. This calculation accounts for the discontiguous nature of the data. The system uses times the network connection is made and broken to calculate an index into the file that corresponds to the time of the user-selected alarm.

  • Publication number: 20230230405
Abstract: A medical device monitoring system and method extract information from screen images from medical device controllers, with a single OCR process invocation per screen image, despite critical information appearing in different screen locations, depending on which medical device controller's screen image is processed. For example, different software versions of the medical device controllers might display the same type of information in different screen locations. Copies of the critical screen information, one copy from each different screen location, are made in a mosaic image, and then the mosaic image is OCR processed to produce text results. Text is selectively extracted from the OCR text results, depending on contents of a selector field on the screen image, such as a software version number or a heart pump model identifier.

  • Publication number: 20230170084
Abstract: A user interface to a medical database stores context information from previous queries and uses the context information as part of information selection criteria for a current query, without requiring the users to fully specify the information selection criteria in each query. The context information is automatically stored as a profile for each user, for each group of users and, optionally, for each institution to which a user is affiliated. In response to a current user query, a combination of the information selection criterion currently entered by the user and one or more information selection criteria previously entered by the user, group and (optionally) institution is used to query the medical database. Optionally, a user's group membership may be automatically determined, based on current physical location of the user and potential groups, for example as estimated from a meeting calendar or signals received by a wireless access point.

  • Publication number: 20220321337
Abstract: A data monitoring system comprising a server communicatively coupled to a client device and a data module via a network. The server is configured to store a private key of a public-private key pair associated with the data module, receive a request from the client device for authenticated access to the data module, and generate an authentication key based at least on the private key and a time. The client device is configured to generate the request for authenticated access to the data module and transmit the request to the server. The data module is configured to store the private key of the public-private key pair associated with the data module, generate the authentication key based at least on the private key and the time, and grant access to the data module if the authentication key generated by the data module and the authentication key generated by the server match.

  • Publication number: 20220076807
Abstract: A method for transferring data from a medical device to a server comprises receiving a video stream from the medical device, capturing an image from the video stream, transmitting the image to the server via a data network, and extracting the data from the image. The image may illustrate and/or represent data over a period of time. The method may also comprise transmitting, from a data module receiving the video stream from the medical device, a signal to a router that indicates that the data module is connected to the network. The method may also comprise transmitting a command to the data module to start capturing the image, transferring the image to the router, broadcasting a signal indicating that the data module has captured the image, receiving the broadcasted signal at the server, and storing the image at the server.

  • Publication number: 20200314207
Abstract: A medical device monitoring system and method extract information from screen images from medical device controllers, and intelligently vary rates at which the screen images are fetched from the respective medical device controllers, so as to reduce computer network load, timely report high-priority information, such as alarms, and provide information at intervals requested by users. The rates at which the screen images are fetched are automatically varied based on information available to a server, such as available network bandwidth, level of network congestion, number of medical device controllers co-located at a single medical institution or on a given local area network (LAN), alarm status of a medical device controller and/or historical timing information regarding use of medical devices connected to the medical device controllers.

  • Publication number: 20200312450
Abstract: Methods and systems for automatically ascertaining physical location information about a plurality of medical device controllers and tracking changes in the physical locations of ones of the respective medical device controllers. One or more machine learning modules infer the physical locations from computer network messages received from the medical device controllers, including information about computer network components that are proximate ones of the medical device controllers.
