  • Publication number: 20060089290
Abstract: A personal care product is provided which includes a composition a quaternary ammonium salt wherein a cation of the salt is a dihydroxypropyltri(C1-C3 alkyl)ammonium monosubstituted polyol in a carrier. The cation should have a molecular weight no higher than about 450 and the salt have a Tg no higher than about 10° C. Particularly preferred are hydroxypropyltrimonium sorbitol salts. These salts operate as humectants to moisturize both in high and low relative humidity environments.

  • Publication number: 20060088496
Abstract: A personal care composition is provided which includes a quaternary ammonium compound which is a salt of hydroxypropyl tri(C1-C3 alkyl) ammonium mono-substituted mono-saccharide. Particularly preferred are hydroxypropyl trimonium quaternized glucose or fructose. These quaternary ammonium salts provide moisturization properties to the personal care composition both in high and low relative humidity environments.

  • Publication number: 20050136098
Abstract: Skin care or cleansing implements are described containing a liquid, semi-solid or solid cleansing or skin treatment composition that is releasably associated with the implement. The composition is substantially nonaqueous and has a continuous and a discontinuous phase. Components of the discontinuous phase can react with each other or with water when water is blended with the nonaqueous cleansing or skin treatment composition during consumer use. Methods for treating the skin with the inventive implements are also described.

  • Publication number: 20050123574
Abstract: Massaging toilet bar compositions are described that contain disintegrable agglomerates that provide simultaneous exfoliation and massaging to the skin and hair. Agglomerates are made by treating them with hydrophilic liquids, hydrophobic liquids, or a combination thereof. This treatment makes the agglomerate softer but not so soft as to make it break apart during the manufacture of the bars.

  • Publication number: 20050123487
Abstract: A cleansing or skin treatment product is described which has one or more chambers and contains a substantially nonaqueous composition having a continuous and a discontinuous phase in at least one chamber. Components of the discontinuous phase can chemically react with each other or with water when water is blended with the nonaqueous cleansing or skin treatment composition during consumer use.

  • Publication number: 20050123573
Abstract: In one embodiment, a liquid or flowable cleansing or skin treatment composition is described which is substantially nonaqueous and which has a continuous and a discontinuous phase. Components of the discontinuous phase can chemically react with each other or with water when water is blended with the nonaqueous cleansing or skin treatment composition during consumer use. In a second embodiment, a solidified cleansing or skin treatment composition is described which contains components that can chemically react with each other or with water when water is blended with the solidified cleansing composition during consumer use. Methods for treating the skin with the inventive compositions are also described.
