  • Publication number: 20080091110
Abstract: A system and method for the in situ discrimination of healthy and diseased tissue. A fiberoptic based probe is employed to direct ultraviolet illumination onto a tissue specimen and to collect the fluorescent response radiation. The response radiation is observed at three selected wavelengths, one of which corresponds to an isosbestic point. In one example, the isosbestic point occurs at about 431 nm. The intensities of the observed signals are normalized using the 431 nm intensity. A score is determined using the ratios in a discriminant analysis. The tissue under examination is resected or not, based on the diagnosis of disease or health, according to the outcome of the discriminant analysis.

  • Patent number: 7359225
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to adjust a current limit in a switching regulator. One example switching regulator includes a switch to be coupled to an energy transfer element of a power supply. A controller to generate a drive signal is coupled to control switching of the switch to regulate an output of the power supply. A current limiter is included in the controller to adjust the drive signal to limit a current though the switch to a variable current limit value. The variable current limit value is set by the current limiter in response to an input line voltage to be coupled to the energy transfer element.

  • Patent number: 7357873
Abstract: The invention presents a novel polyimide-based thin film self-assembly technology, including five process steps described as follows: (1) deposits a sacrificial layer and a low-stress microstructure layer on a silicon substrate; (2) patterns and etches the low-stress microstructure layer to provide a stationary part and a movable part of the microstructure; (3) coats a photosensitive polyimide thin film as elastic joint of the microstructure layer and defines the shape by using photolithography technique; (4) releases the sacrificial layer beneath the movable part of microstructure layer by wet etching; (5) lastly proceeds the reflow process of polyimide to result in the contraction of the elastic joint further to rotate and lift the movable part in completion of the self-assembly of the microstructure. As the invention can be extensively applied to a myriad of miniaturizing industries, it can solve all the drawbacks of the prior art manufacturing process and miniaturization.

  • Patent number: 7359065
Abstract: A method of combining holograms or phase images of an object is disclosed, where attributes of the data used to record two phase images of overlapping portions of the surface of an object are compared and used to match pixels of the two recordings. A relative tilt angle and direction correction is added, and a third phase image is generated. Phase images of objects which are too large to be imaged in an interferometric imaging system can thus be produced.

  • Patent number: 7360156
Abstract: A method and system are provided for performing actions on content in a region within a free form two-dimensional workspace. In a computer software application, a region is defined within the workspace, an action is associated with the region, content is received within the region, and an action is performed on the content in the region. The region may be defined by generating an outline object to define a region within the workspace. An action may be associated with the region by selecting an action from a list of actions to associate with the region. The actions performed may be handwriting recognition, adding data to a contacts list, adding data to a task list, and identifying a recognizer for the content. The actions may also include editing data entered in a region.

  • Patent number: 7358965
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for tapping to create document structure, such as writing. A tapping gesture received from the user is interpreted by a writing application to indicate that the user is about to write in a certain location on the page. While in pen mode, the user taps the pen, the gesture recognizer tells the writing application that a “tap” has occurred, and the writing application creates a new paragraph with an active writing guide attached to it at that location. A tap below text creates a new paragraph. The new paragraph may be located at any available indent level depending on the location of the tap. The tapping gesture may also be used for clearing or moving selections.

  • Patent number: 7359369
Abstract: A network device is disclosed. The network device has at least one port to receive modem over network signals. A router routes data associated with the modem over network signals received from an aggregator. • Patent number: 7359221
Abstract: A three-phase electronic electricity meter that includes a power supply circuit operable to create a constant voltage output when receiving a variable voltage input. The power supply circuit of the electricity meter receives a three-phase line voltage and converts the variable three phase line voltage to a constant DC output. The power supply circuit includes a current limiting circuit to suspend operation of the power converter when the current exceeds a selected value. The power supply circuit includes an over voltage protection that limits the maximum voltage applied to the switching component of the power supply circuit. Both the over voltage protection circuit and the current limiting circuit suspend operation of the power converter to prevent damage to the operating components of the power supply circuit.

  • Publication number: 20080085189
Abstract: The present invention relates to a micro fan, including an impeller, a fan seat and a bottom cover plate, wherein the impeller has a shaft seat stationarily disposed at one end of a spindle and a plurality of blades extended from a periphery of the shaft seat, a top ring and a bottom ring are disposed on a top and a bottom ends of an outer rim of each blade, and a permanent magnet is disposed on a periphery of each blade and is positioned between the top and bottom rings. The impeller of the present invention requires only a single bearing to rotate the impeller therein, and thus there will be no concentricity alignment issue. Furthermore, an air inlet on the fan seat has no impediment at all and is subjected to no blockage, thereby not only increasing the air supply rate and smoothening the air flow field.
