  • Publication number: 20190304029
Abstract: A system and method for authorizing, managing, and tracking expenses made by an agent on behalf of a principal is disclosed. The principal assigns a budget to the agent including parameters describing permitted expenditures. The agent requests of the principal via a Transaction Authorization System authorization for an expenditure. If the principal authorizes, the agent is permitted to make the transaction. The transaction is described and categorized by the agent via the Transaction Authorization System and information from the transaction, the budget, and the request process is compiled into a report.

  • Patent number: 10328942
Abstract: A motor vehicle controller configured to: receive a drive demand signal indicating an amount of net drive to be applied to one or more driving wheels of a vehicle, estimate a value of a parameter indicative of a surface coefficient of friction between one or more driving wheels and a driving surface, and apply a net torque to one or more wheels of a vehicle. The amount of net torque applied is determined in dependence at least in part on the received drive demand signal. The controller is configured to increase an amount of net torque applied to one or more driving wheels independently of the drive demand signal and to update an estimate of the parameter in dependence on a change in speed of the at least one driving wheel when the amount of net torque applied to the at least one driving wheel is increased.

  • Publication number: 20190023095
Abstract: A control unit (18) for an active suspension system (14) of a vehicle (10) having one or more wheels (22), the control unit (18) comprising: at least one input for receiving a signal comprising data related to the topography of terrain in a driving direction of the vehicle (10); at least one output for outputting a control signal for controlling one or more suspension system actuators (34) associated with each respective wheel (22) of said one or more wheels (22); and a processing module arranged to: analyse received data to identify a surface feature (12); determine, in dependence on a current vehicle state, a desired wheel displacement relative to a body of the vehicle for each of said one or more wheels (22) when each wheel (22) negotiates the surface feature (12); determine a control signal for said one or more suspension system actuators (34) in dependence on each respective desired wheel displacement, wherein the control signal defines future adjustments to operation of the or each suspension system act

  • Patent number: 9815493
Abstract: A vehicle comprising an electric power assist steering (EPAS) system, wherein the EPAS system is configured to receive a detected value of steering wheel angle and/or steering wheel angular velocity and wherein the EPAS system is configured to improve the accuracy of the detected value of steering wheel angle and/or steering wheel angular velocity by compensating for any one or more of an angular phasing of the joint between any two linked components of the steering mechanism and the effect on steering wheel angle of the deflection across a torque sensor at least substantially due to the stiffness of that torque sensor.

  • Patent number: 9731757
Abstract: A vehicle comprising a closed-loop electric power assisted steering (EPAS) system comprising a control unit configured to compute an artificial friction component and to compute a desired reference torque (?ref) incorporating the artificial friction component, wherein the artificial friction component is dependent upon steering wheel angle (?).
