  • Patent number: 8655618
Abstract: A method for obtaining physiological muscle values of a user by a programmable accelerometer. In a first step, a user selects the type of test to be carried out. In a second step, a sequence of acceleration data is measured by the portable accelerometer during the test. In a third step, the end of the test is determined by the accelerometer by verifying a condition dependent on the type of test selected, and a sound signal is emitted. Finally, a value calculated on the basis of said successive measurements of the acceleration and dependent on the type of test selected is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20100211349
Abstract: Method for obtaining physiological muscle values of a user by means of a programmable accelerometer, wherein the method comprises the following operations: selection, by the user, of the type of test to be carried out; measurements of a sequence of acceleration data during the test; emission of sound signals at the beginning, during and at the end of the test. The end of the test is determined by verifying a condition dependent on the type of test selected. The sound signals can indicate the beginning of a test, an action to be carried out during the test, or an error condition during the test; displaying of a value calculated on the basis of said successive measurements of the acceleration and dependent on the type of test selected.

  • Patent number: 6332278
Abstract: Portable precision caliper comprising a slide (2) and a shaft (1) each fitted with a jaw (10, respectively 20). The slide is further equipped with electronic means (11) which enable the distance between the jaws (10, 20) to be displayed on an electronic display (12). The electronic means are powered by a battery (110, 111). The shaft (2) is fitted with a magnetized scale (21) with a period of magnetization &lgr;. The electronic means (11) include a sensor (112) equipped with an array of magnetoresistive electrodes disposed opposite said scale (21). The resistance values of the magnetoresistive electrodes are a sinusoidal function of the longitudinal position of the sensor (112) along the scale (21). The set of magnetoresistive electrodes includes at least certain sets of magnetoresistive electrodes formed of at least 8 electrodes connected in series, so as to increase the electric resistance of the sets and to reduce the electricity consumption of the whole device.

  • Patent number: 6191578
Abstract: A sensor for measuring linear or angular dimension. The sensor can be moved with respect to a magnetized scale with a period &lgr;. It is equipped with magnetoresistive electrodes provided with barber-pole structures and connected so as to form n measuring bridges, each measuring bridge formed by four sets of magnetoresistive electrodes. The magnetoresistive electrodes making up each set are connected in series, the magnetoresistive electrodes being distributed spatially so as to constitute x groups. Each group being formed by more than eight consecutive magnetoresistive electrodes coming from two sets of a same measuring bridge.

  • Patent number: 5668826
Abstract: The laser diode (11) of the electro-optical device (10) is frequency-controlled with the aid of a control module (40) comprising a rubidium cell (41) and an optical sensor (42), as well as a further module (43) for controlling the injection current and/or the temperature of the laser diode. A controlling light beam (18) is conveyed by means of a multi-mode optical fiber (14) to the rubidium cell. The optical sensor measures the intensity of the light beam transmitted by the rubidium cell and supplies a signal used by the further module for regulating the injection current and/or the temperature of the laser diode so as to stabilize the frequency of the light (16) emitted. The optical fiber is coupled to the laser module in such a way as to collect part of the light (16, 21) emitted by the front face of the laser diode and reflected by a lens (12) in front of the laser diode. The diode-lens assembly is heat controlled.

  • Patent number: 5664336
Abstract: A linear measuring device comprising a scale fixed on a supporting structure along which a slide can slide. A transducer connected to the slide permits, in cooperation with the scale, determination of at least one coordinate of a point connected to the slide in a system of coordinates connected to the supporting structure. The transducer is fixed to the slide at three points by a mounting device having at each point a screw engaged in a partially threaded opening of a column and a spring. In acting on one of the screws at each of the said points, the spacing can be changed between the detection device and the slide. The spring keeps the spacing as large as the engagement of the screw in the said opening permits. The detection device is of the capacitive or electro-optical type and is mounted on a transducer support. The slide slides by means of rollers, part of the rollers rolling on guide surfaces belonging to the same plane as the surface of the supporting structure to which the scale is fixed.

  • Patent number: 5373645
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a bearing plate (1), a slideway (2) and a girder (3) which are perpendicular to the bearing plane of the bearing plate, a slide (4) with tracer head (5) movable along the slideway and a drive plate (7) located in front of the slide and stabilized by guides (8, 9) independent of the slide. The plate (7) and the slide (4) are connected by balancing (10) and damping (11) springs. A drive device by cable (13) and return pulleys (15-18) which is moved by a movement generator (19) is connected to the plate (7) and is entirely supported by the girder (3) and the bearing plate (1). A counterweight (14) inserted in the circuit of the cable (13) balances the weight itself of the movable elements (4, 7). A body (63) for protection against impacts is fastened to the girder (3) and to the bearing plate (1).
