  • Patent number: 11604954
Abstract: Example implementations provide a controller for controlling printing of a printer, the controller comprising: an input interface for accessing an image to be printed; an image processor to identify at least one selected feature within the image; and circuitry: a. to control printing of said at least one selected feature using a respective print operation; and b. to control printing of said image, other said at least one selected feature, using a further respective print operation; c. said respective print operation being different to said further respective print operation.

  • Patent number: 11305544
Abstract: There is disclosed a method comprising determining, by a processor, if there are consecutive nozzles of a print apparatus that are occluded by a contaminant; and, when a predetermined number of consecutive nozzles are occluded, automatically triggering a cleaning operation to at least partially remove the contaminant.

  • Patent number: 11305535
Abstract: In an example print system including a mask engine and print engine, the mask engine is able to cause generation of print masks with disabled sections that are non-overlapping. In an example method of printing, a number of passes over a zone of media is identified, a plurality of print masks corresponding to the zone are generated with a disabled section of pixels that are non-overlapping, and the number of passes are printed based on the plurality of masks such that the disable pixels in each print mask are in a different relative position with respect to a location of the media.

  • Patent number: 11223746
Abstract: An example of a system for selecting print mode configurations is disclosed. The example disclosed herein comprises an array of nozzles to eject ink, and a controller. The controller is to instruct the array of nozzles to print a plurality of color patches, each color patch being printed using different nozzle setting values. Also, the controller is to receive a sensor signal from each color patch from a color sensor. The controller is further to derive color saturation and/or density measurement information from the sensor signals; and to select a print mode configuration based on the color saturation and/or density measurement information.

  • Patent number: 11057545
Abstract: In an example a method includes deriving a print agent coverage vector specifying an area coverage for each of a plurality of elements, wherein each element is associated with a print agent, a print agent combination or an absence of print agent. Deriving the print agent coverage vector comprises, for a first element of the print agent coverage vector, applying a first weighting function which varies based on an intended area color value.
