Publication number: 20230345357Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are described for establishing communication with an access point. A wireless device may determine to switch to another access point radio based on a variety of factors. The wireless device may use a dynamic threshold to determine whether to switch to another access point radio. The dynamic threshold may be based on a current state of the wireless device. The wireless device may determine other access point radios to switch to directly or indirectly. An access point radio may broadcast information associated with the access point as well as information associated with other access point radios.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2023Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventors: Ross GILSON, Alex COOK

Publication number: 20130198177Abstract: A system sends a search query to a search engine and receives from the search engine, responsive to the search query, a document comprising a first search result item and a second search result item. The system visually renders a portion that includes less than an entirety of the first search result item and includes the second search result item, where the portion is visually rendered in a region of the document. The system receives a selection of the first search result item from a user and visually expands the region of the document to a size sufficient to render an entirety of the first search result item based on the selection. The system visually renders the entirety of the first search result item within the expanded region of the document.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2012Publication date: August 1, 2013Applicant: GOOGLE INC.Inventors: Jeffrey OLDHAM, Joshua D. MITTLEMAN, Alex COOK

Patent number: 4811185Abstract: A DC to DC power converter having first and second input terminals and an output terminal for providing an output voltage at the output terminal which is at a potential halfway between a DC potential applied by a DC power supply across the first and second input terminal is disclosed. The converter comprises first and second switches connected at a switch junction in series across the first and second input terminals, first and second series-coupled diodes coupled at a diode junction across the first and second input terminals in reverse-bias relationship with respect to the DC potential applied across the first and second input terminals, a transformer comprising two windings inductively linked and having first and second ends and a center-tap, the ends coupled between the switch junction and the diode junction and the center-tap coupled to the output terminal and means for alternately switching the first and the second switches at an equal duty factor.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1987Date of Patent: March 7, 1989Assignee: Sundstrand CorporationInventors: Alex Cook, Sampat S. Shekhawat

Patent number: 4805691Abstract: A substrate with a heat producing electronic component is mounted directly on a heat dissipating structure. The heat dissipating structure has a closed chamber with adjacent condenser and evaporator sections and contains a supply of liquid cooling fluid with a predetermined vaporization temperature. The evaporator section is in heat transfer relation with the substrate and the electronic component thereon. A plurality of channels are strategically arranged in the surfaces bounding the chamber to move the cooling fluid by capillary action in a predetermined path between the condenser and evaporator sections in heat exchange relationship over the chamber walls to maintain the substrate at an acceptable temperature. A heat sink, in heat exchange relationship with the condenser section of the heat dissipating structure, maintains a temperature differential between the evaporator and condenser sections and assures that the condenser section is cooled sufficiently to condense the cooling fluid.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1986Date of Patent: February 21, 1989Assignee: Sundstrand CorporationInventors: Alex Cook, Charles E.
