  • Publication number: 20190367345
Abstract: A bottle cap opener and gripper made of resilient materials and used for bottle cap removal. It is essentially a circular configuration with a predetermined thickness and has a rough surface on its circumference for improved grip. The top surface is flat and ready for identification or advertisement. The bottom has a series of step cut gripping rings to engage and hold the bottle cap in a fixed position as the device is turned and the cap is twisted and removed from the bottle. The relationship of the center grip and outer circumference provides a leverage by a radius between the turning force at the circumference by the operator and the twist force transferred to the bottle cap. The radius serves to multiply the twist force with the radius of the device and thereby turn the cap easier than by just the operator gripping the cap alone.

  • Publication number: 20170007257
Abstract: A clamping device for an umbilical cord includes a first member having a first clamping surface and a second member having a second clamping surface. The second member is flexibly coupled to the first member. The clamping device further includes an arcuate body extending away from the first member to assist an operator in moving the first member relative to the second member. The arcuate body is removably coupled to the first member.

  • Publication number: 20110314052
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to enable enhanced searching of data, particularly for larger volumes of data where the data has a plurality of attributes. Conventional search systems require complex and intelligent search input from a user or require a large amount of processing power and complex database access functionality to process searches based on complex data. The system described uses predefined search criteria, wherein each search criterion is associated with at least one attribute. In one aspect, images are stored together with an association with a search criterion. The images are provided for display to a user and input is received from the user to select at least one image and therefore the search criterion and attribute associated with the image. The items of data are searched to retrieve items having the at least one selected attribute and a first intermediate list of identifiers of the retrieved items is stored.

  • Patent number: 6211676
Abstract: An open electromagnet including a pair of field coils which respectively comprise juxtaposed poles of the electromagnet between which an imaging volume of substantially homogeneous magnetic field is defined, toroidal shielding coil means arranged on a locus which forms a loop, so that when energized, the said shielding coil means produces a controlling magnetic field which configures a magnetic flux return path for the field coils so that the magnetic flux return path describes the said loop, and a support structure which serves rigidly to support the shielding coil means and the field coils.

  • Patent number: 5982260
Abstract: An open electromagnet for use in MRI apparatus includes a pair of field coils which respectively comprise juxtaposed poles between which an imaging volume of substantially homogeneous magnetic field is defined. A support structure, which serves rigidly to support the field coils in spaced apart relationship, includes two steel plates between which the field coils are positioned. The relative position of the field coils and the plates is selected such that forces of magnetic attraction between the field coils are at least partly counter-balanced by forces of attraction between the plates and the field coils. In this manner, the force on the field coils and their associated support structure due to the forces of attraction between the poles is significantly reduced or nullified.
