Abstract: A mine roof truss assembly includes a mine roof, an underlying elongated support member, an elongated tension member secured in underlying relationship with respect to the support member, roof bolts passing angularly upwardly and outwardly through the tension member and support member. The tension member being flexible and being maintained in tension through other components of the assembly. Roof plate members and cooperating washers having upwardly convex portions may cooperate with the roof bolts, the tension member and support member in maintaining the integrity of the assembly. A method of supporting a mine roof comprising providing the above described components with the support member having end portions which are hingedly attached to the remaining body portion of the support member.
