  • Patent number: 11706561
Abstract: A balanced armature receiver includes a gas permeable barrier located on a portion of the receiver defining a back volume to provide barometric relief. The barrier can be located in a wall portion or diaphragm of the receiver to vent the back volume to an exterior of the receiver directly, via a front volume, or via a nozzle. The gas permeable barrier is impermeable to liquid infiltration and can be configured to influence the low frequency response of the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20160165334
Abstract: An acoustic device that is configured to be disposed at least partially within an ear includes a hard inner sleeve, a soft or flexible outer sleeve, a speaker, a microphone, and a microphone chamber. The outer sleeve includes a first channel and a second channel. The first channel extends through the soft outer sleeve. A portion of the second channel is open and not surrounded by the hard inner sleeve on an outer surface of the hard outer sleeve. The soft outer sleeve at least partially surrounds the hard inner sleeve. The soft outer sleeve covers the portion of the second channel that is open to form an enclosed channel. The speaker is in communication with the first channel. The microphone chamber communicating with a microphone, and the microphone chamber is also in communication with the second channel via a port.

  • Patent number: 9137605
Abstract: An acoustic apparatus includes a top assembly and a bottom assembly. The bottom assembly is coupled to the top assembly to form an overall assembly. A diaphragm assembly is disposed in the overall assembly so as to separate the overall assembly into a front volume and a back volume. The diaphragm assembly includes a frame and the frame has a first end, a second end, and a middle portion that is disposed between the first end and the second end. The first end and the second end are not in the same plane as the middle portion. The first end is coupled to the bottom assembly and the second end is coupled to the top assembly.

  • Patent number: 8814132
Abstract: A method for regulating an actual variable (X) to a setpoint variable (W), a manipulated variable (Y) being ascertained from the setpoint variable (W) and the actual variable (X), and the manipulated variable being supplied to an input of a controlled system, and a change in the actual variable (X) occurring only upon the manipulated variable being changed by a minimum amount, an intermediary manipulated variable (Y?), to which a correcting quantity (K) is applied in the steady-state condition of the regulation for forming the manipulated variable (Y), being first ascertained from the setpoint variable (W) and the actual variable (X), only values which change the manipulated variable (Y) by less than a minimum amount being allowed for the correcting quantity (K).

  • Publication number: 20130166670
Abstract: A networked storage system includes a source mass storage device coupled to a client via a storage area network (SAN). A target mass storage device is coupled to the source mass storage device via a private data network. The source mass storage device stores source data which is provided to the client via the SAN in response to a request by the client to read the data. If the request is to copy or move the source data, however, the source mass storage device determines an identifier for the target mass storage device and directly provides, based on the identifier, the source data to the target mass storage device via the private data network. The transfer via the private data network bypasses the client and the SAN.

  • Publication number: 20120089776
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing self-contained embedded storage providing data redundancy and automatic failover for a RAID system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a metadata RAID array module disposed for insertion in a metadata controller is disclosed. The array module may be configured to receive power and/or cooling from the metadata controller while providing RAID metadata functionality through an external interface. The external interface may be a Fibre channel interface.
