  • Patent number: 11936017
Abstract: A battery pack for an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle may include a housing, a stack of battery cells disposed within the housing, and a cooling subassembly. The housing typically holds the cell stack together, and the cooling subassembly typically cools the cell stack to prevent damage to the battery cells and to maintain the performance of the battery cells. The cooling subassembly may include a cold plate defining a liquid flow channel and one or more thermoelectric devices (TEDs) that are operable to cool the cell stack when current is supplied thereto. Heat spreaders may be employed within the battery pack, and exemplary configurations of components to thermally and mechanically couple the cooling subassembly are described.

  • Publication number: 20240075146
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an integrated target assembly containing a lithium layer attached to a base plate on a support structure made from a low-activation material. The support structure includes flow channels adjacent to the surface of the base plate for effective cooling of the base plate during operation. The integrated target assembly advantageously reduces the amount of easily activatable material, such as copper, leading to increased safety of the handling personnel.

  • Publication number: 20140205671
Abstract: A method of synthesizing PHA nanocapsules as a protein carrier, particularly, the synthesis of PHA nanocapsules synthesized by a modified precipitation/solvent evaporation technique with neutralization. Specifically, the method comprises the steps of sonicating a first solution comprising a triblock PHA copolymer, stirring the first solution into a second solution to give a third solution, the second solution containing a protein, and the second solution being acidic. Further, the method comprises adding the third solution with a neutralizing agent to give a neutralized solution, and sonicating the neutralized solution to form a final solution, wherein the synthesized PHA nanocapsules containing the protein are formed in the final solution. Further, PHA nanocapsules encapsulated with the protein is used by administering the synthesized PHA nanocapsule to an animal in need thereof via the oral cavity.

  • Patent number: 8589667
Abstract: According to one aspect, a multifunctional computing device having a wireless communications processor (e.g., cellular processor) and an application processor (e.g., general-purpose processor such as a CPU) share a storage device that is associated with or attached to the application processor. An example of such a multifunctional computing device may be a Smartphone device having a cellular phone and handheld computer functionalities. There is no specific storage device directly associated with or attached to the wireless communications processor (hereinafter simply referred to as a wireless processor). Instead, the wireless processor communicates with the application processor via a high speed communications link, such as a USB link, to access code and data stored in the storage device (e.g., flash memory device) associated with the application processor.

  • Patent number: 8175034
Abstract: Techniques for configuring wireless communications devices are disclosed. For instance, an apparatus may include a storage medium to store one or more configuration files, and a configuration module. Each of the one or more configuration files may correspond to a network carrier. The configuration module selects one of the configuration files and to extract one or more operational parameters from it. This selected configuration file and the one or more operational parameters correspond to a designated network carrier.
