Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for solid-state synthesis of ceramic materials, in particular of oxide materials or cuprates, comprising or consisting of the step of providing starting material in amounts effective to produce the ceramic material and, thereafter, applying a treatment to said material by use of a solid-state reaction therein, said reaction being performed by irradiating said material from at least one light source with ultraviolet light. The present invention also relates to methods for producing thin films and to a use of the method for production of high-temperature superconductors.
