  • Patent number: 10261523
Abstract: A latching solenoid slave valve for wirelessly receiving watering instructions from an irrigation controller via acoustical waves or pulses. The latching solenoid slave valve comprises a diaphragm in direct communication with a main water distribution conduit of the irrigation system for detecting acoustical waves or pulses transmitted by pressurized water of the main water distribution conduit. An accelerometer is supported by the diaphragm for generating an output signal as the diaphragm vibrates due to detection of the acoustical waves or pulses. A microcontroller is electrically coupled to the accelerometer for processing the output signals of the accelerometer, and the microcontroller determining, from the processed output signals of the accelerometer, whether or not the latching solenoid slave valve is to commence a watering cycle for a desired duration of time. An irrigation controller is wirelessly coupled to the latching solenoid slave valve for controlling operation thereof.

  • Publication number: 20180042188
Abstract: An irrigation system having a user interface, a master valve, at least one conduit coupling the master valve with at least one slave valve; and a communication system for wirelessly communicating operating instructions between the master valve and the at least one slave valve. The medium of the communication system, for transmitting instructions, is located along the conduit.

  • Publication number: 20170347543
Abstract: A method of wirelessly transmitting alarm condition information is applicable to an irrigation zone including a zone input conduit connected to a main distribution conduit of the irrigation system. The zone further includes a zone distribution conduit, a zone valve connected between the zone input conduit and the zone distribution conduit, and at least one irrigation emitter connected in the zone distribution conduit. The method includes detecting an alarm condition at the irrigation zone, and at a designated time proximate to one of a start time and an end time for to an irrigation session for the irrigation zone, controlling the zone valve according to a zone valve control sequence corresponding to the detected alarm condition. The zone valve control sequence comprises a predefined pattern of open and closed states of the zone valve over time.

  • Publication number: 20170265403
Abstract: A control unit includes a communication output terminal associated with a communication signal circuit, and a supply output terminal associated with a supply signal circuit. The communication signal circuit operates to apply a communication drive signal to the communication output terminal in response to a communication control signal, while the supply signal circuit operates to apply a supply operating signal to the supply output terminal in response to a supply control signal. The control unit further includes a controller which operates to direct the supply control signal to the supply control circuit with a particular timing relative to directing the communication control signal to the communication signal circuit. More specifically, the controller directs the supply control signal to the supply signal circuit at a first point in time and then directs the communication control signal to the communication signal circuit after a communication condition is met in an irrigation system.
