  • Patent number: 10223902
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating a point device included in a system of point devices. One method includes transmitting a query, with a transceiver included in the point device, to at least one device external to the point device for system state information and receiving, with the transceiver, a response from at least one device external to the point device in response to the query. The method also includes determining, with an electronic processor included in the point device, a current state of the system of point devices based on the received response and automatically modifying, with the electronic processor, operation of the point device based on the current state of the system of point devices.

  • Patent number: 10182400
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for a wireless electronic device including a primary wireless transceiver and a secondary wireless transceiver. An electronic processor is configured to operate the wireless device and communicate through the primary wireless transceiver when in an active mode and to monitor the secondary wireless receiver for a wake-up signal when in a sleep mode. The electronic processor transitions from the sleep mode into the active mode in response to detecting the wake-up signal through the secondary wireless receiver.

  • Patent number: 9940825
Abstract: A security monitoring system includes at least one sensor configured to sense an event condition. A security monitoring system controller communicates with the sensor and an indicator of alarm and trouble conditions. The central security system also detects barometric pressure within a monitored area. The security system controller is configured to receive an event signal indicative of an event from the at least one of the sensors and receive an indication of the barometric pressure from a barometer. When the barometric pressure from the barometer indicates a change in barometric pressure, the security monitoring system controller confirms that the event is present and outputs an indication signal to the indicator based on the confirmed event. When the barometric pressure from the barometer does not indicate a change in barometric pressure, the security monitoring system controller suppresses the output of the indication signal.

  • Publication number: 20170192796
Abstract: Methods and systems for configuring a device. One method includes receiving, with an electronic processor, a firmware block and a firmware configuration block from a hub. The firmware configuration block includes configuration parameters for the firmware block. The method also includes executing, with the electronic processor, the firmware block based on the configuration parameters included in the firmware configuration block to operate the device. The method also includes receiving, with the electronic processor, an updated firmware configuration block. The updated firmware configuration block includes updated configuration parameters for the firmware block. The method also includes executing, with the electronic processor, the firmware block based on the updated configuration parameters included in the updated configuration block to operate the device.
