  • Publication number: 20240311438
Abstract: Techniques for enabling users logged-out of a social networking system to access content associated with the social networking system are described. For example, based at least in part on determining a user is unassociated with a social networking system, the social networking system may present content to the user. In some examples, the amount of content available to the user may be limited, in which the user may be prompted to create an account. In some examples, logged-out users may be prompted to pick topics associated with their interests, allowing the social networking system to curate content for logged-out users.

  • Publication number: 20240122547
Abstract: A human-body-signal collection device (10). The human-body-signal collection device (10) includes a reference electrode (210), a first electrode (220) and a second electrode (230), an adjusting and generating device (30), a first collection device (40), and a first feedback device (50). The first electrode (220) outputs the first signal. The second electrode (230) outputs the second signal. The adjusting and generating device (30) is connected to the reference electrode (210) to output a reference signal to the reference electrode (210). The first collection device (40) collects the first signal and the second signal, and generates a first potential-difference signal based on the first signal and the second signal. The first feedback device (50) is connected to the first collection device (40) and the adjusting and generating device respectively.

  • Patent number: 11500884
Abstract: A search system performs a federated search across multiple databases and generates a ranked combined list of found genealogical records. The system receives a user query with one or more specified characteristics. The system may determine expanded characteristics derived from the specified characteristics. The system searches the various databases with the characteristics retrieving records according to the characteristics. The system combines the retrieved records and ranks them using a machine learning model. The machine learning model is configured to assign a weight to the records returned from each of the genealogical databases based on the characteristics specified in the user query. The machine learning model may be trained by any combination of one or more of: a Nelder-Mead method, a coordinate ascent method, and a simulated annealing method. The ranked combined results are provided in response to the user query.

  • Publication number: 20220358395
Abstract: There is a need for faster and more accurate predictive data analysis steps/operations. This need can be addressed by, for example, techniques for efficient predictive data analysis steps/operations. In one example, a method includes identifying a first predictive entity embedding for the first predictive entity and a second predictive entity embedding for a second predictive entity; determining, using a similarity determination machine learning model and based at least in part on the first predictive entity embedding and the second predictive entity embedding, a predicted cross-entity similarity measure; and performing one or more prediction-based actions based at least in part on the predicted cross-entity similarity measure.

  • Patent number: 11369237
Abstract: The present invention is a material roll support system operable to hold of a roll of material and a method relating thereto. The material roll support system comprises two independent holder units, each of which can support one side of a roll of material. The independent holder units may be fixedly or non-fixedly attached to a surface, or may be held in a position solely by gravity. The surface upon which an independent holder unit is positioned may be supports, such as posts or other surfaces, such that a roll of material can be held by the independent holder units in an area or environment that contains such supports and between such supports. The independent holder units can further be positioned at varying distances from each other and the material roll support system can thereby can be used to support rolls of materials of varying widths.

  • Patent number: 9930100
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a first instance of content to be uploaded to a server, generating a second instance of the content from the first instance, automatically uploading to the server the second instance of the content, and automatically uploading to the server the first instance of the content in response to occurrence of a pre-determined upload condition. The first instance has a first file size and the second instance has a second file size that is smaller than the first file size. The upload of the second instance makes the content available for access at least in part by one or more second users at an immediate point in time. The upload of the first instance of the content makes the content available for access by the second users in an original version.
