  • Publication number: 20020107787
Abstract: A system for trading media space includes a server node which receives requests for media space from buyers and offers of media space from sellers. The server node includes a set of rules for matching one of the requests and one of the offers to form a matched request and offer pair. A delivery system is connected to said server node for facilitating delivery of media content between the buyer and seller of the matched pair.

  • Publication number: 20020075547
Abstract: A high-speed optical network is provided wherein transmitters and receivers operate under the control of an appropriate controller without the requirement for low-speed optical-electrical-optical (OEO) conversion devices. Through the use of appropriate multiplexing schemes and device controls, optical data signals are sent from transmitters to receivers without the requirement for intermediate address decoding and the concomitant signal regeneration necessitated by the use of low-speed OEO devices. Further provided are transparent optical data receivers which, under appropriate control, detect high-speed optical data with minimal or no diminution of the optical intensity of the underlying data signal. A transparent optical receiver may be utilized by removing a portion of the coating and cladding of an optic fiber and inserting the optical receiver at that location.

  • Publication number: 20020077107
Abstract: A method for automatic selection of a wireless carrier by transmitting subscription information from a wireless terminal to a telecommunication node. Data relating to the fees charged by each of a plurality of cellular networks is stored at the telecommunications node. When a telecommunication transmission request is received at the telecommunication node, the telecommunication node determines an optimal route based on the stored data and the subscription information.

  • Publication number: 20020046155
Abstract: A method and system for trading electric power on a spot market and dynamically matches bids and asks and routes the electric power in accordance with the matches to effect the settled trades. A control node is arranged for receiving bids and asks via a wide area network. The control node is also connected to a transmission system and a central control of the transmission system to dynamically switch the transmission system to effect the matched bids and asks.

  • Patent number: 5825872
Abstract: A portable automated dialer capable of generating a predetermined sequence of tones including DTMF tones into the microphone of a telephone. The automated dialer includes a signal generator for generating a series of tone signals, a speaker electrically connected to the signal generator for transmitting the tone signals as a series of audible tones and a tone completion indicator operating in at least a first and second state such that the tone completion indicator changes from the first state to the second state after the signal generator generates a last tone signal in the series of tone signals. The indicator may be a visual, auditory, tactile or even olfactory indicator.

  • Patent number: 5694464
Abstract: Computerized switching system a method of connecting a caller and a called party or target by a manual or automated dialer by informing a control station of a PIN or ID number and optionally the service type, and having the call routed based on pre-programmed numbers provided by the called party. The call is routed to a destination that may be based on many factors, including the hour of day, priority of call, service type, destination and origination of caller and other programmed commands. The called party has the ability to administer the routings and direct all call flows, including destination, scanning originator, time, etc. A dialer service pre-programmed with access and PIN numbers may be used to automate these procedures.
