Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are included for splitting a gift card by generating one or more other gift cards. A transaction processor receives a request to split a first value that corresponds to a first data structure, the request including a first identifier that is associated with the first data structure. Responsive to the request, the transaction processor generates a second data structure. The transaction processor assigns a second identifier and a second value to the second data structure. The transaction processor receives a second request that includes the second identifier and a third value. The transaction processor reduces the third value by the second value.
