  • Patent number: 6380540
Abstract: A gamma camera (70), comprising: at least one emission detector (72), which receives radiation emitted from the body of a subject (26) and generates signals responsive thereto; a radiation source (74), which directs radiation toward the body; at least one transmission detector (76), having a long dimension, which receives radiation transmitted through the body (26) from the radiation source (74) and generates signals responsive thereto, wherein the transmission detector (76) translates in a direction generally perpendicular to the long dimension.

  • Patent number: 6269565
Abstract: A viewing device for viewing transparencies comprising a display surface; a source of backlighting that backlights the display surface with linearly polarization axis; member for holding a transparency on the display surface;an optical sensor positioned so that it views the display surface; and polarizer, having a polarizer axis, and suituated between the display surface and the optical sensor. The viewing device is configured such that the polarizer axis is functionallu related to the polarization axis of the polarized light; and the polarized is smaller than the display surface.

  • Patent number: 5530248
Abstract: A system for recording fewer of the events that are caused by unwanted photons with greater stability. The system locally determines the energy spectrum and fits for each pixel of the image the determined energy spectrum with a modified trial function composed of: a photopeak component of known energy shape, Compton scatter components having theoretically derived energy shapes and, when applicable, also measured or calculated energy spectra of other unwanted photons. The modified trial function also takes into consideration unknown local deviations in the outputs of electronic components. The amplitude of the photopeak distribution resulting from the fit is used to obtain the local content of wanted interactions in the image. This enables removal of Compton contamination and also the contamination caused by interaction of the gamma photons with lead components.
