Patent number: 11702092Abstract: A method for detecting an obstacle includes the steps of: calculating, for each point of a space around a telemeter, a plurality of corresponding intermediate probabilities of presence, each intermediate probability of presence being associated with a respective orientation of the telemeter among a plurality of predetermined orientations around a current orientation of the telemeter, each orientation being certain; for each point of space, calculating a probability of the presence of an obstacle from each corresponding intermediate probability of presence and from an uncertainty model on the orientation of the telemeter; and generating an alert if the probability of the presence of an obstacle in a predetermined zone with respect to the telemeter is greater than or equal to a predetermined alert threshold.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2020Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: COMMISSARIAT À L'ÉNERGIE ATOMIQUE ET AUX ÉNERGIES ALTERNATIVESInventors: Alex Pereira Da Silva, Sylvain Leirens

Publication number: 20220083077Abstract: A method is provided for collaboratively detecting tangible bodies in an environment employing a plurality of distance sensors with which respective carriers are equipped, including: for each sensor, acquiring a series of measurements of distance of a closest tangible body along a line of sight; applying an inverse model of the sensor on a local occupancy grid; and constructing a consolidated local occupancy grid via Bayesian fusion of the occupancy probabilities thus determined; and, computing occupancy probabilities of the cells of a global occupancy grid via Bayesian fusion of the occupancy probabilities of corresponding cells of at least certain of said consolidated local occupancy grids. A system for implementing such a method is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2021Publication date: March 17, 2022Inventors: Alex PEREIRA DA SILVA, Sylvain LEIRENS, Suzanne LESECQ, Diego PUSCHINI PASCUAL

Patent number: 10506546Abstract: A method of localising an access point (B1, B2, B3) to a communication network; The method comprises the following steps: reconstruction of a trajectory (P1, P2, P3, P4) followed by a mobile device during a displacement during which it makes measurements of an indicator related to the distance separating it from the access point; determination of a localisation (T1, T2, T3) at which each of the measurements on the trajectory is made; calculation for each measurement of a difference between the distance separating a possible localisation of the access point from the location at which the measurement is made and a distance estimated from the measurement and a propagation model relating the indicator and the distance, and calculation of a localisation error from the calculated differences. The propagation model is updated at each evaluation of a possible localisation of the access point.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2018Date of Patent: December 10, 2019Assignee: COMMISSARIAT À L'ÉNERGIE ATOMIQUE ET AUX ÉNERGIES ALTERNATIVESInventors: Alex Pereira Da Silva, Sylvain Leirens

Patent number: 10356556Abstract: In a method for locating mobile devices, a trajectory (T1, T2) is reconstructed modelling a movement made by each mobile device during which the mobile device carries out measurements of an indicator linked to the distance separating it from access terminals (B1-B5) to a communication network. From these measurements, the locations of the terminals are calculated in a frame of reference linked to each mobile device. A procrustean analysis is then performed to determine, for each mobile device, a geometric transformation that transforms the locations of the terminals in the frame of reference linked to the mobile device into locations transformed in a common frame of reference. From this determination, the location of each terminal transformed in the common frame of reference is superimposed with a location of the terminal in the common frame of reference. Finally, the corresponding geometric transformation is applied to the trajectory of each mobile device.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2018Date of Patent: July 16, 2019Assignee: COMISSARIAT À L'ÉNERGIE ATOMIQUE ET AUX ÉNERGIES ALTERNATIVESInventors: Alex Pereira Da Silva, Sylvain Leirens

Publication number: 20180173622Abstract: A method and system to perform deterministic timing analysis of a plurality of software tasks involves cache memory that is shared by the plurality of software tasks. Real memory is accessible by the plurality of software tasks. A task scheduler establishes a cache flush between executions of consecutive tasks among the plurality of software tasks. The cache flush includes movement of data in the cache memory to the real memory. A processor executes the plurality of software tasks to obtain a worst case execution time (WCET) associated with each of the plurality of software tasks.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2016Publication date: June 21, 2018Inventors: Brian Fruechtenicht, Terrence R. Leibham, Alex Pereira, Jeffery S. Schmidt, Balaji Krishnakumar

Patent number: 9442642Abstract: Technologies are generally described for providing a tethered selection handle for direct selection of content on a touch or gesture interface. Touch or gesture input on a computing device may be detected to begin content selection, and a start handle may be displayed near the initial input location. An end handle may be displayed to indicate an end of the selection. After the selection, the end handle, a portion of the end handle, or a separate indicator may be displayed at a location of user's current interaction point to indicate to the user that the computing device is aware of the movement of the user's interaction point away from the end handle, but the content selection had not changed. The newly displayed indicator may be tethered to the end handle to further indicate the connection between the end of the selected content and the user's current interaction point.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2013Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Alex Pereira, Jon Clapper, Jan-Kristian Markiewicz
