    Abstract: A method of collecting proteins from a washwater and/or wastewater stream by means of a pH shift technique, aided with dissolved bubbles of air or gases, in order to substantially reduce the environmental impact of wastewater discharge and improve the value of the recovered protein. The pH shift process can coagulate and recover the protein at low temperatures (?1 to 10 degrees Celsius) making the proteins recovered suitable for human food applications, without heating.

In connection with the presence indicator status, one or more indicators are provided on a surface portion of a first component of the device. The presence indicator status indicating the presence of the user with respect to the device is received. One or more indicators at the device are set in accordance with the presence indicator status.
