Abstract: A simple electrolyzer system, that can be easily installed in most motor vehicles, including boats, generates a gaseous mixture including hydrogen as auxiliary motive fuel to provide increased performance and mileage. The electrolyzer system is powered electrically from the vehicle battery and consumes only water. In a preferred embodiment, a pair of similar electrolyzer cells, mounted in the engine compartment of the vehicle, generate a gaseous mixture of hydrogen and oxygen that is delivered independently to corresponding input ports at two strategically selected domains in the vehicle's air intake system: one at the intake manifold and the other at the main air intake duct leading to the intake manifold. A check-valve disconnect coupling in each gas delivery hose serves as a flash-back arrester for safety, and facilitates maintenance.

Abstract: A security system includes a central computer connected through a network to a plurality of remote computers. A database of user information is created at the central computer and copied to the remote computers. The remote computers include user interfaces for the collection of user information such a fingerprint and a user ID. When a user provides this information, the remote computer compares it to the database. If a match is generated, the remote computer authorizes access through an associated passageway. The security system can also be used to monitor user access times and to present messages to users.

Abstract: An automated transaction machine includes a computer coupled with a financial transaction network. The computer is able to receive paper coupons and determine account and vendor information therefrom. The computer is also coupled with a currency acceptor and a debit or credit card acceptor. Payment against the paper coupons may be made through the currency acceptor or card acceptor.

Abstract: An automated transaction machine includes a scanner configured to receive a bill or coupon. The coupon is processed by application of connected component analysis, segmentation, coupon matching, and data extraction to determine an associated vendor and customer account information. This information is used to complete a payment transaction.
