  • Patent number: 11890027
Abstract: An endoscopic grasping device for use during an endoscopic procedure. The device includes at least a fork operably connected to a pair of jaws pivotally mounted about a pivot point to the fork. A pusher is disposed within the fork and operably connected to a drive wire and a pair of arms. Each arm is attached to a respective jaw and configured to move that jaw upon a movement of the pusher in a distal direction or proximal direction resulting in the pair of jaws being in a closed position and a open position. Each jaw includes a plurality of teeth extending therefrom and towards the opposite jaw. One or more of the teeth are backwards curved and angled in a proximal direction from the jaw to improve a grasping, cutting, and handling feature of the teeth.

  • Publication number: 20240032930
Abstract: A device and assembly for ligating a target tissue to restrict blood flow to the tissue, where the device is a ligating device that is irreversibly tightened by a cinch component. The device further has a hook to hold the ligating element on a delivery tool. The ligating element can be a continuous loop or can be a clip and can be repositionable until the cinch is used to tighten it. The cinch holds the ligating device on the loop while being positioned, and then secures the ligating device once it is positioned around target tissue to which a user desires to restrict blood flow. A method of using the assembly includes an actuator assembly, drive wire, and pusher element to manipulate the ligating device and cinch component.

  • Publication number: 20230404595
Abstract: An actuation assembly for a tissue recruiting device for recruiting tissue and closing a defect. The actuation assembly includes one or more control actuators operable to control the position and rotation of an actuation element coupled to a grasping device. The grasping device is configured to grasp tissue. The actuation assembly is operable by a user to deploy the grasping device via the actuation element to grasp tissue. The actuation assembly may independently deploy multiple grasping devices, such as on opposite sides of a defect. The actuation assembly may also deploy a closure mechanism configured to circumferentially surround the deployed grasping devices to close the defect.

  • Publication number: 20230371938
Abstract: A tissue recruiting device for treating and closing a defect and methods of using the same. The tissue recruiting device includes a tissue recruiting assembly with two grasping devices and a shroud. An actuation assembly couples control actuators to the grasping devices via actuation elements. The grasping devices may be maneuvered to grasp tissue from different locations by actuation of the control actuators. The grasping devices may be retracted into a shroud to substantially close the defect. The grasping devices and the shroud may be decoupled from the remainder of the tissue recruiting assembly to maintain closure of the defect.
