  • Patent number: 10114050
Abstract: A method of identifying consumption of a utility by devices in a group of devices, wherein each device in the group of devices has a plurality of device-states and is arranged to consume the utility, the method comprising, for a given measurement period in a supply of the utility to the group of devices: obtaining a time-based vector of total levels of consumption of the utility by the group of devices during the given measurement period; for each of a plurality of group-states, wherein each group-state corresponds to each device in the group of devices being in a corresponding device-state, calculating a score representing a likelihood that the group of devices is in the group-state during the given measurement period, wherein said score is based on a likelihood of the obtained vector occurring based on a multivariate statistical model, corresponding to the group-state, of the total level of consumption of the utility by the group of devices during a measurement period in the supply of the utility to the gro

  • Patent number: 9401900
Abstract: An e-mail system is disclosed that overcomes many deficiencies of, but is backward compatible with, existing e-mail systems. An exemplary method for communicating e-mail messages comprises receiving, at a server system, an original e-mail message associated with a unique message ID that is assigned by the server system. The method further comprises storing a distribution list associated with the unique message ID and a thread participation status indicator for each of the one or more recipients, and, in response to an opt-out request received from one of the recipients, updating the distribution list to thereby produce a modified distribution list that does not include the requesting recipient. The method further comprises receiving a reply e-mail message in the same thread, and sending the reply e-mail message based on the modified distribution list such that the reply e-mail message is not sent to the requesting recipient.

  • Publication number: 20030187662
Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for decoding compressed audio data. A bitstream is read utilizing reconfigurable hardware, where the bitstream includes compressed audio data. The data in the bitstream is interpreted, and then decoded utilizing reconfigurable hardware. The decoded data is quantized. Stereo signals of the decoded data are decoded. The decoded data is processed for output.

  • Publication number: 20030036895
Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for network-based configuration of a programmable logic device. A default application is initiated on a programmable logic device. A file request for configuration data from the logic device is sent to a server located remotely from the logic device utilizing a network. The configuration data is received from the network server. The configuration data is used to configure the logic device to run a second application. The second application is run on the logic device.

  • Publication number: 20030028690
Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for providing a hardware-based reconfigurable multimedia device. A default multimedia application is initiated on a reconfigurable multimedia device. A request for a second multimedia application is received from a user. Configuration data is retrieved from a data source and is used for configuring the logic device to run the second multimedia application. The second multimedia application is run on the logic device.

  • Publication number: 20020072893
Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for processing instructions of an embedded application. A microprocessor is emulated in reconfigurable logic. Control functions are also implemented in reconfigurable logic. The emulated microprocessor processes the instructions. Each instruction is processed in a minimum number of clock cycles required for accessing an external instruction and data memory.

  • Publication number: 20020010825
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for arbitrating access to a shared memory resource by a plurality of gate arrays. During use, operations are executed on a plurality of gate arrays. Further, the gate arrays are allowed access to at least one shared memory resource during the execution of the operations thereon. Such access to the at least one shared memory resource is arbritrated to prevent conflict between the gate arrays.
