  • Publication number: 20100150079
Abstract: System and method for interference reduction in a broadband wireless access (BWA) network are disclosed. A mobile station performs a recursive process to update channel estimates of interfering channels on a symbol-by-symbol basis for use in canceling interference from data subcarriers received through two or more antennas.

  • Publication number: 20100033390
Abstract: Embodiments of millimeter-wave communication systems and methods for communicating using millimeter-waves are described. In some embodiments, a directional antenna (102) may direct millimeter-wave signals substantially in a horizontal plane (115), and one or more reflectors (104) may be positioned to reflect the millimeter-wave signals to user devices (108).

  • Patent number: 7644345
Abstract: In a multicarrier transmitter that transmits two or more spatial data streams, a bit distributor assigns encoded bits to the spatial data streams based on bit-loading capabilities of the streams and in a manner to intermix the bits among the spatial streams.

  • Publication number: 20090315794
Abstract: Embodiments of chip-lens array antenna systems are described. In some embodiments, the chip-lens array antenna systems (100) may comprise a millimeter-wave lens (104), and a chip-array antenna (102) to generate and direct millimeter-wave signals through the millimeter-wave lens (104) for subsequent transmission.

  • Publication number: 20090059860
Abstract: Embodiments of a scheduler and a method for assigning frequency and time dimensions of downlink bursts in broadband wireless access networks are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, the frequency and time dimensions of downlink bursts are assigned to each of a plurality of subscriber stations based on one or more individual channel characteristics and one or more individual data requirements associated with the subscriber stations.

  • Publication number: 20090052566
Abstract: Embodiments of a multicarrier receiver with interference-aware demodulation and methods for channel estimation using recursive filtering in wireless networks are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, orders of a recursive filter are allocated to track a main channel and one or more interfering channels to generate channel estimates.

  • Publication number: 20080117997
Abstract: A system for communicating through a multicarrier communication channel estimates a channel transfer function Hnm(K) each of a plurality of subcarriers of a multicarrier communication channel from received training signals. The system also estimates a spatial correlation matrix Rnm(k) for each subcarrier from noise and interference samples obtained during the reception of the training signals through two or more receive-signal paths. Receiver and transmitter beamformer weights may be generated for the subcarriers using the channel transfer function Hnm(k) and the spatial correlation matrices Rnm(k) for use in subsequent communication through the channel.
