A recess between the junction lip and the recess portion defines a junction recess. At least a portion of the recess portion is configured to pass through the opening until at least a portion of the top edge extends into the junction recess.

    Abstract: A junction box includes an enclosable housing with a bottom. The housing is configured to mount to a roof of a structure with a slope. A sealant is disposed on the bottom exterior surface of the bottom. The sealant surrounds a central area of the bottom. The central area is configured for penetrations into the roof and the sealant surrounds at least an upper portion and side portions of the central area. The upper portion is oriented toward an upper side of the bottom with respect to the slope of the roof. The housing includes a plurality of anchor openings in the bottom. Each anchor opening is configured for an anchor where securing an anchor through an anchor opening contributes to securing the housing to the roof and applies a force that compresses a portion of the sealant adjacent to and/or surrounding the anchor opening.
