  • Patent number: 11620472
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying individuals with a user-requested expertise are provided. For example, the system can include a processor configured to receive a user input and extract one or more keywords from the input. The processor can generate search requests based upon the one or more keywords, each search request identifying at least one application programming interface (API) call configured to invoke at least one API function as exposed by a software application. The processor can transmit the search requests to the software applications and receive search responses. The processor can determine a plurality of software application users and a set of associated evidence, each set of associated evidence including user interactions with each of the software applications. The processor can aggregate the evidence into an aggregated data set and configure the aggregated data set as an input to a machine learning classifier for ranking the sets of evidence.

  • Publication number: 20220222130
Abstract: A system for facilitating the integration between a content management system (CMS) and software, such as productivity analyzer software. A company may use the system to isolate the CMS and the software from each other while integrating the functionality of both the CMS and the software to a compatible interface. The CMS and the software may interface with an adapter, avoiding the need for the CMS or the software to use each other's interfaces directly. The system may allow the CMS and the software to function unmodified as decoupled system components. If the CMS and software are able to function as decoupled system components, they may be more easily upgraded, altered, or replaced.

  • Publication number: 20130109989
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for obtaining and processing ballistocardiograph data to determine a physiological condition of a subject. Ballistocardiograph data indicative of heart motion of the subject measured along a plurality of spatial axes by a sensor device which may comprise a three-axis accelerometer. The ballistocardiograph data is processed to determine processed data indicative of heart motion of the subject. Indications of physiological condition are determined based at least in part on the processed data. Processing may comprise aggregation of multidimensional data, determining magnitude of heart motion and derivative thereof, determining a thrust summation, determining an index value, outputting a report based on an index value, etc. Processing may be informed by operator input, such as a time window of interest or indications of interest.

  • Patent number: 8154588
Abstract: A system of microphones, signal processors, and loudspeakers provides enhanced comprehension of speech in noisy social events where the locations of participants are relatively constrained. Speech enhancement comprises both boosting sounds moderately at higher frequencies and delaying them to match the arrival of sounds directly from speakers. Virtual loudspeakers create the illusion for each listener that the boosted sounds come from the vicinity of each talker. Video cameras determine the head positions and facing directions of participants. Subgroups of participants having at least temporary conversational affinities can be identified. Such subgroups may overlap and change. Speech from talking participants is picked up by directional microphones and filtered, sorted, and relayed selectively via loudspeakers to listening participants identified as subgroup members, reinforcing and enhancing the naturally heard speech. More weight can be given to enhancing speech between affined participants.

  • Patent number: 7523692
Abstract: An inexpensive, efficient and lightweight integrated small decoy system towed behind an aircraft to power an intense IR emitter for drawing in a missile with an IR sensitive guidance system away from vulnerable parts of a defended aircraft is combined with a system for simultaneously cloaking the aircraft with spectral bands of atmospherically scattered UV solar radiation reflected, and radiated from UV radiant sources mounted on the aircraft to defend against advanced MANPADS missiles with guidance systems sensitive to UV shadows cast by an aircraft in a background sky radiance of atmospherically scattered solar UV. Both the reflected and direct cloaking UV emittance may be spatially and/or temporally modulated to confuse an incoming missile. The UV aspect of this invention may also be combined with other C-MANPADS missiles, such as DIRCM, to provide additional defensive capability.

  • Publication number: 20060237189
Abstract: Methods are provided in which reliance is placed on a first and second barrier respectively positioned in a well 10 to provide well control during well suspension, completion and/or workover operations. Each of the barriers is below the depth of the lowermost end of a completion string when that string is installed in the well. By not placing either barrier higher up in the well-bore, both of the barriers can remain in place during suspension and completion and workover operations, thus obviating the need to use a BOP stack to supplement well control. This results in a considerable saving in drill rig time and thus significantly reduces the cost of constructing a well.

  • Patent number: 7028947
Abstract: A low-cost airliner defense system utilizing self powered, retrievable, towed decoys against man portable heat-seeking missile (MANPAD) systems provides both high power and a large IR radiating surface area. An efficient and lightweight integrated turbine-alternator extracts sufficient electric power from an air stream directed through a small decoy deployed and towed behind an aircraft during the vulnerable phases of a flight to power a large and intense IR emitter. Unfurled IR radiator “petals” present large area arrays of rear-facing IR emitters. During the high-altitude cruise phase the radiating petals furl down folding around the retrieved decoy body as it is stowed in a streamlined housing for minimizing fuel consumption and maneuverability penalties.

  • Patent number: 6999715
Abstract: Calls made from mobile or cellular telephones may contain audio signals from broadcasts audible to the caller. Thus, a call made into a call center, perhaps to gain valuable information, such as traffic conditions, may be analyzed at the center to determine the source of the broadcast. This invention takes advantage of the existing communications infrastructure and provides for rapid and statistically improved estimation of listenership.
