Publication number: 20240273597Abstract: Some embodiments described in this disclosure are directed to methods for comparing products in a three-dimensional environment. In particular, some embodiments described in this disclosure are directed to methods for comparing physical objects (e.g., physical products) and virtual object representations in the three-dimensional environment. These comparisons can provide an efficient and intuitive way for a user to identify differences between a particular physical object and a virtual object representation, and enable a user to select an upgrade or replacement for the physical object. Some embodiments described in this disclosure are directed to methods for presenting object information for a physical object in a three-dimensional environment, and comparing the physical object to a virtual upgrade object.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Brendan J. Patent number: 7336318Abstract: An apparatus and method for facilitating program changes. The apparatus and method include a controller for detecting a change program request and for outputting change event data when a change event is detected. A non-active video information replacement module is coupled to the controller for receiving non-active video information and the change event data. When the replacement module receives change event data, a clear code generator generates clear code data that replaces non-active video information, and the non-active video information replacement module generates modified non-active video information. The modified non-active video information is provided to an output stage, whereupon the clear code data resets a non-active video information field within a display device, thereby preventing the display of erroneous information by a display within the output stage. Thereupon, clear code data is synthetically inserted within non-active video information upon the occurrence of a change event.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2001Date of Patent: February 26, 2008Assignee: ATI Technologies Inc.Inventors: Alexander C. Chan, Steven M. Bolduc

Patent number: 7074244Abstract: A sequential method for dyeing hair which comprises: contacting the hair with a substantially inactive dye precursor mixture containing at least one primary intermediate and an optional coupler for a period of time, followed by applying a means for aligning the hair and distributing the oxidative dye precursors uniformly, followed by contacting the hair with a developer mixture capable of oxidizing the hair dye precursors to react and form hair color molecules.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2003Date of Patent: July 11, 2006Assignee: Unilever Home & Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc.Inventors: Alexander C. Chan, Padmaja Prem, Katherine Jacobs-Dube, John Brian Bartolone

Patent number: 7066968Abstract: The present invention relates to a 2-step methods, and compositions for providing more vibrant, natural and long-lasting color to hair and at the same time reducing hair fiber damage associated with alternative current methods. In the first step the hair is contacted for a period of time with a dye precursor mixture containing specific oxidative hair dye precursors under conditions where these dyes are substantially inactive. Color is then developed in a second step by contacting the hair with a mixture of a peroxide compound and a persulfate salt. Surprisingly the 2-step method leads to considerable “lift” or lightening without negatively impacting the coloring ability of the oxidative dye. The invention also relates to kits providing the means to accomplish these steps.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2004Date of Patent: June 27, 2006Assignee: Unilever Home & Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc.Inventors: Alexander C Chan, Stella Arcella, John Brian Bartolone, Allan Robert Burger

Patent number: 7041142Abstract: A two step method of coloring hair is described. The hair is first contacted for a period of time with a dye precursor mixture containing an oxidative dye, specific fatty components and one or more water miscible organic solvents. Color is then developed in a second step by contacting the hair with one or more oxidizing agents. Greater color intensity and longevity are achieved when the fatty component in the dye precursor mixture contains at least one fatty amine and the fatty ingredients and organic solvents satisfy the relationship, ?FC<0.037(?OS)2?3.35(?OS)+63, where ?FC and ?OS are respectively the total weight of fatty ingredients and the total weight of water miscible organic solvents in the precursor mixture.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2004Date of Patent: May 9, 2006Assignee: Unilever Home & Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc.Inventors: Alexander C. Chan, Stella Arcella, John Brian Bartolone
