  • Patent number: 7676196
Abstract: A telecommunications system provides service to a cellular device located within a radio-frequency (RF) shadow of a communication station. The system may include a line-of-sight (LOS) antenna located in a line of sight of the station and a shadow antenna in communication with the LOS antenna and located within a line of sight of the RF shadow. The LOS antenna receives a transmitter signal from the station, and the shadow antenna receives a cellular signal from the cellular device. The LOS antenna also receives the cellular signal from the shadow antenna and, in turn, transmits the cellular signal to the station. Similarly, the shadow antenna receives the transmitter signal from the LOS antenna and, in turn, transmits the transmitter signal to the RF shadow. Accordingly, the cellular device is able to receive the transmitter signal T, and the station is able to receive the cellular signal.

  • Patent number: 5758262
Abstract: Apparatus for receiving and transmitting via the airwaves the audio component of a TV channel having a housing. Located in the housing there is provided a circuit located for receiving a plurality of TV channels from the airwaves, each of said TV channels including a video component and an audio component, said receiving circuit including a circuit for selecting the audio component exclusive of said video component from each one of said plurality of TV channels. Also in said housing and coupled to said receiving circuit there is provided a radio frequency transmitting circuit for transmitting a radio frequency carrier comprising said selected audio component via said airwaves.

  • Patent number: 5637975
Abstract: A Power Factor Corrector system for use with AC induction motors which detects information from the motor voltage and motor current and decreases the power input to the motor proportional to the detected phase displacement between the current and voltage resulting in reduced electrical power input to the motor as the mechanical load is decreased.

  • Patent number: 5628056
Abstract: A television frequency-to-radio frequency transceiver is provided for receiving television audio signals via the airwaves and converting them to AM or FM radio frequency signals for transmission by the airwaves to a nearby AM or FM receiver. An antenna matching circuit and bandpass filter network are provided to enhance reception of signals in the lower VHF band. Selectable TV channels and selectable AM and FM radio frequencies are provided by means of digitally controlled television and AM and FM radio frequency synthesizers. Stereo signal processing and secondary audio programming signal processing are also provided. An external whip antenna is used for receiving signals and an internal loop antenna is used for transmitting the signals.

  • Patent number: 5218869
Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system and method for examining the interior of an object. The imaging system includes an apparatus for transmitting and receiving ultrasound waves. A receiver amplifies echo signals from over a range of depths from within the object and generates electrical signals, each having a spatial spectrum. The imaging system also includes a compensation apparatus which compensates the spectral distribution of the signal by sweeping the spectrum of the signals in accordance with the depth from which the echo signals are reflected. In the currently preferred embodiment, the compensation apparatus sweeps from the low frequencies to the high frequencies of the spectrum.
