  • Patent number: 10172837
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of therapy. The invention particularly relates to insulin sensitizers and methods of regulating glucose homeostasis and to the therapeutic or prophylactic treatment of diseases and associated conditions, in which impaired glucose uptake due to insulin resistance is involved or implicated, such as diabetes, syndrome X, hyperglycaemia, vascular disease and kidney disease. The present invention further relates to compounds and agents and compositions thereof for use in the treatment methods.

  • Patent number: 10176623
Abstract: Generation/rendering of a 2D perspective/view of a geographic region, e.g. a map the world or portion thereof, superimposed over which are indicators of related data items and graphical representations of the relationships therebetween is disclosed. Based on location data associated with each data item, a relative geographic presentation within, or otherwise superimposed over, the 2D presentation is generated relative to a 3D representation of the geographic region. Graphical interconnections are then derived based on the positions of the data items relative to each other and depicted in a manner which shows both the relationship between the data items and the geographic relationship with respect to the geographic region. The graphical interconnections may further be derived in a manner so as to depict a or other wise follow the perspective depicted by the 2D view, e.g. as arcs between related data items conforming to the depicted spherical contour of a globe.

  • Patent number: 10019433
Abstract: The disclosure is generally directed to a method and computing device for maintaining dependencies among multiple reference elements (e.g., formulas of a table or spreadsheet). In various embodiments, prior to a reevaluation operation carried out on the reference elements, a computing device receives an input of a reference element via a user interface (e.g., receives a user's input of a formula), assigns the reference element to a group based on the dependency between the reference element and one or more other reference elements, and assigns the reference element to a location within a dependency graph to which the other reference elements are assigned. In response to an event that requires at least one of the reference elements to be reevaluated, the computing device reevaluates each group of reference elements in sequence a group at a time.

  • Publication number: 20180103298
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of broadcaster tools configured to manage and control interactive shopping interfaces presented in connection with a live video stream. A broadcaster user interface is generated that includes the live video stream. The broadcaster user interface can be modified to include statistics related to the users consuming the live video stream. The broadcaster user interface can also be modified to include components that when selection cause an action to be performed with respect to the live video stream and/or interactive shopping interfaces rendered on client devices.

  • Patent number: 9910266
Abstract: A spectral instrument including a light source configured to produce a light beam, the light beam comprising a plurality of wavelengths, and the light beam being about collimated or pseudo-collimated. The spectral instrument also includes a spectral dispersion device in optical communication with the light source. The spectral instrument also includes a screen disposed in the optical path after the spectral dispersion device. The screen comprises a material configured to be substantially opaque to at least some of the plurality of wavelengths. The screen is sized and dimensioned to at least partially block selected ones of the plurality of wavelengths. The screen is movable with respect to an axis of the screen. • Patent number: 8409315
Abstract: A muffler is provided that air or gas flows through to attenuate acoustic oscillations and reduce sound levels. An inner vortex and an outer vortex are created within the device that reduce noise within the rotating flow of gases. The gases flow in the outer vortex from an inlet in a live end of the housing toward a dead end of the housing. A projection is provided in the dead end of the housing that creates a low pressure area that causes the formation of the inner vortex flowing from the dead end toward the live end to an outlet.

  • Patent number: 8246704
Abstract: A contained vortices device that allows for the flow of air or gas into and out of the device. In the process of gases moving through the device, a vortex is created within the device that allows for the separation of heavier materials, reduction of the size of any particulates, and the expelling of particulates of a significantly smaller size than was introduced to the device.
