  • Patent number: 5201281
Abstract: A track and carriage combination for supporting maintenance equipment in pressurized water reactor steam generators is disclosed. A pair of outwardly extending grooves are machined into the annulus portion of the generator tubesheet. Geared segments are provided for being inserted in the grooves for forming a geared track upon which the maintenance device may be firmly supported. Each geared segment includes gear teeth, a base shaped to mate with and engage the annulus grooves. A keyway is provided at the tubelane for allowing the segments to be slidably inserted into the grooves. Each segment is slightly curved so as to form a track corresponding with the annulus curvature. The segments are interlockable so that the segments may be removed from the annulus without any segments being left inside the steam generator. If desired, the track may be of one-piece construction and permanently mounted in the annulus.

  • Patent number: 4230527
Abstract: An improved steam generator for use in a nuclear power plant of the pressurized water type in which a turbine generator is driven by the steam output of the steam generator to provide electrical power therefrom. The improvement comprises providing a vertically movable grid structure vertically extending within the interior of the lower housing portion of the steam generator through which individual tubes comprising a vertically extending tube bundle extend. The tube bundle has a tube sheet at one end thereof supporting the tube bundle for the tubes extending through the tube sheet in flow through communication with a heat exchange fluid inlet. The grid structure defines grid apertures therein through which the individual tubes extend with each of the grid apertures being in surrounding relationship with a portion of an associated one of the tubes.

  • Patent number: 4162191
Abstract: An improved steam generator for use in a nuclear power plant of the pressurized water type in which a turbine generator is driven by the steam output of the steam generator to provide electrical power therefrom. The improvement comprises providing vertically assemblable modules which are removably mounted together in sealing relationship, with the modules comprising a base module, a tube bundle module removably mountable on the base module in sealing relationship therewith and an uppermost dryer module removably mountable on the tube bundle module in sealing relationship therewith whereby ready access to and removal of the tube bundle module in situ from the nuclear power plant steam generator is facilitated. The dryer module contains moisture separator means within the interior thereof in communication with a steam outlet for drying the generated steam provided to the steam outlet to the turbine generator.

  • Patent number: 4042759
Abstract: A quick disconnect system for removably connecting a electrical cable to a battery terminal post comprises either a pin therethrough which is engaged by an angulated slot in a spring loaded connector which slot includes a notch for locking the connector onto the pin, the connector being quickly disengageable from the terminal post by exerting a force opposite to the spring biasing force while sliding the connector off the pin; or a threaded type in which a threaded sleeve is secured to an existing battery terminal post which interfaces with a threaded connector for locking thereon by 90 degree rotation and unlocking by 90 degree rotation in the opposite direction; or a quick disconnect comprising a snap ring secured to a groove of an existing terminal post wherein a grooved resilient cover is snap-fit onto the split type snap ring secured to the existing terminal post.
