  • Publication number: 20240076006
Abstract: Presented is a system for cooling components of an electric motor vehicle. It utilizes the cold plate, a large metal plate necessary for cooling the batteries and electronics, as a structural member. Instead of being passively contained, the cold plate is used to increase the torsional rigidity of the monocoque. The structural cold plate takes on shear stresses, unlike a passively-contained, non-structural cold plate. The use of the cold plate itself as a stress member negates the need for additional redundant features or structures in the monocoque to resist forces and prevent flexure. Thus the monocoque can be pared down and its weight minimized or larger component accommodated. Cold plates can be made in several ways, from different materials, of varying thickness and shapes.

  • Publication number: 20230398877
Abstract: Complete or predominant use of regenerative braking in electric motorcycles rather than hydraulic braking may lead to brake discs and pads that are below an optimum operating temperature. To reduce the risk of accident, an indicator warns motorcycle riders that the brakes are below optimum operating temperature. With this knowledge, riders are prepared to apply extra braking force when slowing down, particularly in an emergency situation. Relative application of the regenerative brake and hydraulic brakes may be controlled to raise the temperature of the brakes so that they are primed.

  • Patent number: 11455801
Abstract: Generating signatures within a network that includes a plurality of computing devices of varying processing capabilities is disclosed. Chips may be transmitted, from a network video recorder and over the network, to an analytics appliance having a GPU processing power that is higher than a GPU processing power possessed by the network video recorder. The GPU processing power possessed by the analytics appliance may be employed to process the chips therein and generate respective signatures.

  • Patent number: 11113587
Abstract: There is provided an appearance search system comprising one or more cameras configured to capture video of a scene, the video having images of objects. The system comprises one or more processors and memory comprising computer program code stored on the memory and configured when executed by the one or more processors to cause the one or more processors to perform a method. The method comprises identifying one or more of the objects within the images of the objects. The method further comprises implementing a learning machine configured to generate signatures of the identified objects and generate a signature of an object of interest. The system further comprises a network configured to send the images of the objects from the camera to the one or more processors.

  • Patent number: 10846554
Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for performing a hash-based appearance search. A processor is used to obtain a hash vector that represents a search subject that is depicted in an image. The hash vector includes one or more hashes as a respective one or more components of the hash vector. The processor determines which one or more of the hashes satisfy a threshold criterion and which one or more of the components of the hash vector qualify as a scoring component. The one or more components that qualify correspond to a respective one or more hashes that satisfy the threshold criterion and that are represented in a scoring database that is generated based on different examples of a search target. The processor determines a score representing a similarity of the search subject to the different examples of the search target.
