  • Publication number: 20230301706
Abstract: A surgical instrument comprised of a handle and a tubular shaft with an interior and a wall made from an electrically conductive material. A metallic wire is arranged at least in sections in the interior of the tubular shaft and can be moved by the actuation of a control element so that a loop that can be extended out of a distal end of the shaft is formed and with a switch, wherein the metallic wire can be energized by the actuation of the switch, in which the control element and the switch are coupled with each other so that the metallic wire is energized in defined positions of the metallic wire.

  • Publication number: 20230172750
Abstract: A device for surgery that accommodates multiple different implements. The implements may be exchanged or changed out for one another over the course of a surgery in a manner that does not require disengagement of the device from a surgical site. As a result, the need to re-insert the device into the patient and other hazards associated with multiple trips into the surgical site may be minimized. In one embodiment, the device includes cannula architecture to avoid use of a separate cannula at the surgical site.

  • Publication number: 20230123525
Abstract: A surgical instrument with a shaft is constructed as a hollow tube and has a longitudinal axis, proximal and distal ends and a metal wire having a first end section, a shaft section and a working section. The first end section is arranged in the area of the proximal end of the shaft or is guided out of the shaft on the proximal end. The shaft section is guided in the hollow tube and the wire is arranged such that it can move along the longitudinal axis of the shaft into a first position of the working section on the distal end projecting out of the shaft and into a second position of the working section within the shaft. The instrument is constructed as a bipolar instrument, wherein the metal wire is part of a first electrode and a second electrode is arranged in some sections on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 10383681
Abstract: A probe applicator (1) is provided for positioning a bipolar electrosurgical probe (2) that has a bendable distal end (5) with a tip that forms a bipolar electrode head (9) connected to two electrical conductors (7, 8). The probe (2) is arranged in a casing (6), and both the probe (2) and the casing (6) are longitudinally displaceable in a rigid shaft tube (3). The distal probe end (5) is pre-tensioned into a curved shape when the shaft tube end (17) is retracted. However, the probe end (5) is tensioned into an extended position by the surrounding end (17) of the shaft tube (3) when the shaft tube (3) is advanced. The second electrical conductor (8) is a flexible wire cable.

  • Publication number: 20180168670
Abstract: The invention provides an instrument for endoscopic surgery comprising a shaft tube (10), a pull rod (12) which can move axially inside the shaft tube (10) and jaws (20) located at the distal end which are mounted on a single hinge pin (24) and can be pivoted towards each other. Relative axial motion of the shaft tube (10) and the pull rod (12) is converted into the pivot motion of the jaws (20) via contact eccentric to the hinge pin (24). The hinge pin (24) is mounted on the distal end of the pull rod (12). Each jaw (20) has a nib (34) which protrudes radially eccentric to the hinge pin (24). Each nib (34) engages in a cut-out (32) in a sheath (24, 124). The cut-outs (32) are covered by the shaft tube (10).

  • Patent number: 9855093
Abstract: An instrument for cutting body tissue has an instrument shaft, A blade, is adjacent to a distal end of the instrument shaft and can be folded out with respect to a longitudinal axis of the shaft and can be rotated about the longitudinal axis. An operating part is at a proximal end of the instrument shaft. A proximal end of the blade directed toward the operating part can be pivoted laterally out away from the longitudinal axis about an end of the blade that faces away from the proximal end and that is distally articulated at an articulation point. A tissue stop is arranged at the distal end of the instrument shaft. The tissue stop can be brought into an active position in which a stop surface facing the blade in the proximal direction has a specified fixed distance from the articulation point.

  • Publication number: 20150351826
Abstract: A bipolar resectoscope has an inner shaft with an insulating insert at its distal end and an electrode transporter that can be arranged in the inner shaft. A first electrode is longitudinally moveable in the electrode transporter and has a proximal end that can be connected to a first connection of a high-frequency generator and a second electrode that can be connected at its proximal end to a second connection of the high-frequency generator. A circumferential electrically conductive electrode surface (29) is exposed transverse to the longitudinal axis (28) of the inner shaft (2) and is connected to the distal end (31) of the second electrode (5) on the inner side (30) of the insulating insert (8). The exposed electrode surface (29) of the insulating insert (8) is on the side (34) facing away from the longitudinal axis (33) of the insulating insert, and is insulated electrically toward the inside.
