  • Publication number: 20240111278
Abstract: A method for formulation and modelling of intentions in process plant engineering includes formulating intentions of an actor by guiding the actor to provide the intentions to an assistance system, wherein the intentions are hierarchically structured and comprise at least a goal, describing the goal, an implementation, how the goal can be achieved, and a requirement for the goal and the implementation. The intentions are translated into an intention model, which is transformed into a graphical representation that is provided to the actor.

  • Publication number: 20130332221
Abstract: A method and device are disclosed for determining critical information interfaces between fields of activity of an electronically documented process, the method including: (a) providing a binary dependency matrix between the fields of activity of the process; (b) rating the information interfaces between the fields of activity of the process that are specified in the binary dependency matrix based on predefined criteria that are read out from a criteria database in terms of their respective expression in relation to the read-out criteria in order to generate a numeric dependency matrix; and (c) evaluating the generated numeric dependency matrix in order to determine information interfaces of the process that are critical in respect of at least one target function.

  • Patent number: 8314694
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with an alarm system and a method for suppressing redundant alarms in a monitored system. The alarm system comprises a process control unit, an FDI unit, a filter, and an alarm display unit. The process control unit detects anomalies in the monitored system and generates alarms corresponding to them. The FDI unit diagnoses failures in the monitored system and generates a failure-cause-effect graph comprising a list of generated alarms, along with the alarms corresponding to the causes and effects of each listed alarm. The FDI unit dynamically updates the failure-cause-effect graph concurrently with the generation of alarms by the process control unit and the diagnosis of failures by the FDI unit. The filter receives the generated alarms and identifies redundant and not-yet-classified alarms from the received alarms, by using the failure-cause-effect graph.

  • Patent number: 8290990
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing and exchanging data relating to an automation project. The automation project has a data-processing system with a conversion device that converts data from at least one proprietary data format into a standardized data format, and vice versa. The conversion device uses at least one data assignment to assign at least one first piece of information, given in the standardized data format, to a second piece of information, given in the proprietary format, and/or vice versa. In addition, the conversion device is configured to locate at least one first piece of information, given in the proprietary data format, the corresponding data assignment assigned to it from among the data assignments that are present, and based on the located data assignment, transform the proprietary first piece of information into a standardized second piece of information specified in the data assignment, or vice versa.
