  • Publication number: 20150307809
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for extracting non-polar lipids from microalgae are achieved using a lipid extraction device having an anode and a cathode that forms a channel and defines a fluid flow path through which an aqueous slurry is passed. An electromotive force is applied across the channel at a gap distance in a range from 0 5 mm to 200 mm to cause the non-polar lipids to be released from the algae cells. The non-polar lipids can be extracted at a high throughput rate and with low concentrations of polar lipids such as phospholipids and chlorophyll.

  • Patent number: 8433556
Abstract: A system and method for aligning words in parallel segments is provided. A first probability distribution of word alignments within a first corpus comprising unaligned word-level parallel segments according to a model estimate is calculated. The model estimate is modified according to the first probability distribution. One or more sub-models associated with the modified model estimate are discriminatively re-ranked according to word-level annotated parallel segments. A second probability distribution of the word alignments within the first corpus is calculated according to the re-ranked sub-models associated with the modified model estimate.

  • Publication number: 20050238008
Abstract: Method and device provide for the encapsulation of control information in a real-time data stream. In one embodiment a method of encapsulating data in an information frame is provided. This information frame has a payload portion and a trailer portion wherein the trailer portion is designated for control data and the payload portion is designated for real-time data. In use control data is inserted into the payload portion of the information frame and an extension bit is used to signify the presence of control data in the payload portion of the information frame. The information frame is then transmited over a virtual circuit.

  • Patent number: 6148960
Abstract: A track (2) for storing divider bars (24) used on a checkout counter (12) having a conveyor (14). The track (2) can be fitted over or replace a previously-installed track (10), and can store display/divider bars of much greater width than those presently in use. The wider surfaces of the new track also provide areas on which advertising can be displayed. The new tracks can be secured in place temporarily for ease of replacement by tracks displaying or holding updated advertising information.

  • Patent number: 4027609
Abstract: This disclosure relates to feed mechanisms for sewing machines, particularly industrial sewing machines. A reciprocatory advance motion is imparted to a feed dog means by an eccentric means connected to a driven shaft in the machine and to a feed advance shaft which imparts an oscillating motion to the feed dog means. A feed dog lift means for imparting a lift motion to the feed dog includes an eccentric means also connected to the driven shaft. The mechanisms for imparting advance motion and lift motion to the feed dog are connected to a common fulcrum pin to provide a sturdy and stable mechanism capable of operating at high speeds with minimum noise and vibration.

  • Patent number: H2139
Abstract: A pipeline for transmitting oil or other substance which forms a solid residue such as wax when the substance is cooled, as in a subsea oil pipeline. Pass a tube through the interior of the pipeline, e.g., at the wall of the pipeline. Transmit heated liquid or water through the tube for heating the material being passed through the pipeline to a temperature which avoids or eliminates the solid residue and for heating the pipeline.
