  • Patent number: 8776428
Abstract: A pliable fishing lure assembly includes a lure body including a leading portion and a trailing portion joined by a connecting hinge portion. A pliable, spinnable appendage is connected for unrestrained 360° rotation to the lure body by a swivel mechanism. The lure body can bend or fold into a U-shaped form at the hinge portion. A hook through the leading portion includes a protruding barbed end on one side of the leading portion and a protruding eye on the opposite side of the leading portion. The lure assembly is formed from a neutrally buoyant or close to neutrally buoyant material. During a glide, the lure body can straighten out at the hinge portion, and the pliable, neutrally buoyant spinnable appendage does not interfere with the weighting and buoyancy of the lure body and does not add excessive drag in the water to the assembly.

  • Patent number: 8230639
Abstract: Soft or pliable spinning appendages can be attached to a soft fishing lure using a swivel mechanism that provides unrestricted 360° rotation. The appendages increase attractiveness, flash, vibration, color, or scent. Due to their slow spinning speed and neutral buoyancy in water, the appendages provide unique properties to slow-moving lures not possible with prior art hard blades. A weedless swivel mechanism is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5828761
Abstract: A sound amplification system includes an amplifier and a waterproof microphone. In an exemplary embodiment the microphone includes a transducer within a cavity covered by a resilient waterproof membrane. The system can monitor either the complete frequency range of the microphone or only one or more selected frequency ranges. The system can include one or more noise emitting lures that produce sound in a frequency range corresponding to the one or more selected frequency ranges. The invention also includes a method of waterproofing a miniature microphone.

  • Patent number: 5581930
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting the presence of fish and other underwater objects includes a fish attractor and an underwater sensor assembly coupled to the fish attractor. The underwater sensor assembly measures and senses under water factors related to fish catching conditions proximate the lure. The sensor assembly transmits signals corresponding to such factors to an above water circuit which provides an output signal. In addition to, or in place of, the underwater sensor assembly, one or more vibration sensors are mounted on a fishing rod or outrigger pole to detect fishing line vibration or rod movement. In other embodiments, remote activity sensing includes placing a sensor directly on a fishing line or downrigger line.

  • Patent number: 5546695
Abstract: A fishing reel for receiving signals from an underwater sensor assembly includes a housing having a receiver disposed therein. The fishing reel receiver is adapted to recieve signals from under water sensors which provide data related to fish catching conditions proximate a fish attractor such as a lure. The fishing reel further includes a transmitter which transmits signals to an output module. A fishing line is provided having an inner line for transmission of electrical signals disposed within an outer line.

  • Patent number: 4845883
Abstract: A fishing lure made of a soft, non-rigid material shaped and weighted to glide in water is provided. Weights precisely blance the lure to produce the glide and to stabilize deflection of the lure caused by any tendency of the soft, non-rigid material to deflect. A hook for catching fish is attached to the lure and provides the means for connecting the lure to a fishing line controlled by a fisherman.
