  • Patent number: 9598883
Abstract: A security device fitted to the base casing of a portable object for securing the portable object is provided. The security device includes a housing having an indentation formed within one face of the housing and a retractable tongue pivotably mounted at one end within the indentation. The tongue has an aperture formed within the tongue's non-pivotal end. In a first mode, the retractable tongue is storable within the indentation and in a second mode, the retractable tongue may be extended beyond the contours of the device allowing for a secondary component to be attached to the aperture.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20140194593
Abstract: The present invention provides processes for determining the molecular weight of glatiramer acetate and other copolymers. The present invention further provides a plurality of molecular weight markers for determining the molecular weight of glatiramer acetate and other copolymers which display linear relationships between molar ellipticity and molecular weight, and between retention time and the log of the molecular weight. The molecular weight markers also optimally demonstrate biological activity similar to glatiramer acetate or corresponding copolymers and can be used for treating or preventing various immune diseases. In addition, the subject invention provides pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of immune diseases comprising a polypeptide having an identified molecular weight and an amino acid composition corresponding to glatiramer acetate or a terpolymer.

  • Publication number: 20070059798
Abstract: The invention also provides a process for preparing a composition comprising: preparing a mixture of polypeptides, wherein each polypeptide in the mixture (a) is a copolymer of the amino acids L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, L-tyrosine and L-lysine, and (b) may be present in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt; and wherein in the mixture 13% to 38% of the polypeptides have a diethylamide group instead of a carboxyl group present at one end thereof; determining the average molecular weight of the polypeptides in the mixture by size exclusion chromatography on a gel permeation chromatography column calibrated using a plurality of copolymers of defined sequence and molecular weight; and including in the composition only those polypeptide mixtures determined to have an average molecular weight between 13,500 and 18,500 Daltons, wherein each of the copolymers is a polypeptide consisting of L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, L-tyrosine and L-lysine with a defined molecular weight between 12,000 and 30,000 Daltons,
