  • Patent number: 8166388
Abstract: Overlaying electronic ink over a document. A typical scenario may be where one it would be useful to mark up a document with electronic ink, such as by making handwritten comments, drawings, and the like over the underlying document. In some embodiments, a developer may easily define an inking surface, such as a transparent or opaque window, over a document. The inking surface may act as an input interface such that a user may write onto the inking surface such that is appears that the document itself is being marked up.

  • Publication number: 20110313859
Abstract: Techniques to provide geo-targeted advertising are described. A technique may include displaying a map to an advertiser at a first zoom level. The advertiser may stay at the first zoom level or change to a second zoom level. The advertiser may also create a user-defined area of the map. The advertiser may select an advertising campaign, and the advertising system may associate the selected advertising campaign with the user-defined area and the selected zoom level. The advertising system may then provide the selected advertising campaign for display in a mapping application operating on a client device when the user-defined area and the selected zoom level are viewed in the mapping application. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20100332313
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates user selectable advertising networks. Advertising content can be formed into cohesive subsets of advertising. These subsets can be related to criteria to facilitate selection between available subsets of advertising content. A selection component can facilitate selection of the available subsets of advertising content based on these criteria. The criteria can be related to user preferences. Further the criteria can relate to explicit user preferences such as opt-in or opt-out indicia. The user can be presented with more relevant advertising content where user selection of advertising networks occurs.
