Abstract: Techniques for distributing and monitoring content are provided. Identifiers are separated from content embedded on content media. When content media is interfaced to a machine, the associated identifier is acquired. The identifier is submitted to an authentication service for authentication. If successful authentication occurs, an access key is supplied to the machine and the action requested on the machine is taken with respect to the content.
