  • Publication number: 20220233775
Abstract: Wearable auto-injector devices, systems and methods prevent medication administration in a device-worn state using a mechanism that prevents administration medication or by making it impossible or operationally impractical to physical orient or align the device to achieve injection. The device includes a housing, an attachment component enabling the housing to be worn by a user, and a medication delivery system including a needle and a medication reservoir. An advancement system advances the needle into a user's skin and causes the medication to flow through the needle. Various advancement systems, error-reduction mechanisms, attachment alternatives, and optional monitoring and communications capabilities are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20170035968
Abstract: Apparatus, implanted subcutaneously or in muscle, fat, joint spaces, or body cavities of any type, detects and responds to an allergic and/or anaphylactic reaction. Detection is carried out by monitoring the levels of biomarker molecules that indicate the occurrence of an allergic and/or anaphylactic reaction, such as: histamine, leukotrienes, prostaglandins, cytokines, tryptase, Fc-?-RI complexes, anaphylatoxin C3a, chymase, carboxypeptidase A, platelet-activating factor8, other mast cell degranulation byproducts, or other basophil activation compounds. An appropriate dosage of medication (such as epinephrine, antihistamines, or steroids) is automatically dispensed to mitigate the allergic/anaphylactic response. The simplicity and ease of use of the invention has the potential to save many lives worldwide, while dramatically mitigating the risks of the current methods of handling severe allergic reactions using external auto-injectors. 8 Sala Cunill, A., Cardona, V.

  • Publication number: 20050203956
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to facilitate state transitions for managed business objects. For example, a managed business object may be created such that it can be in one of a number of pre-defined states. When an event notification is received, an action request is issued to a component application based on (i) the current state of the managed business object, (ii) the event notification, and (iii) a pre-defined rule. An action response is then received from the component application, and the state of the managed business object is transitioned in accordance with the action response.
