Patent number: 7887069Abstract: A toothed rack or threaded rod, in particular for a steering mechanism for a motor vehicle, includes a first rod-shaped part which, as a function element of the toothed rack or threaded rod, includes at least one element for the conversion of a rotational movement into a translational movement, in particular a toothing and/or a threading for the engagement of a threaded nut or of a threaded drive, and a second rod-shaped part which is connected with the first rod-shaped part. The connection of the first with the second rod-shaped part takes place via a separate connection part which includes first and second connection pins, of which the first connection pin is held by press fit in the hollow volume opening out at the connection end of the first rod-shaped part and the second connection pin is held by press fit in the hollow volume opening out at the connection end of the second rod-shaped part.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2009Date of Patent: February 15, 2011Assignee: Thyssenkrupp Presta AktiengesellschaftInventors: Roman Bilmayer, Ralf Eckstein, Alexander Kiforiuk, Frank Birkwald, Michael Stange

Publication number: 20080149413Abstract: A power-assisted steering system is disclosed. A motor is coupled by a motor shaft and a clutch to a worm shaft, which in turn engages a worm wheel. The worm shaft and the worm wheel are mounted in the gearbox housing. The distal end of the worm shaft is mounted in a bearing, and a proximal end of the worm shaft is mounted to the clutch. This construction permits inclusion of a partial housing coupled to the gearbox and enclosing the motor. Both ends of the motor shaft may be mounted in the partial housing motor bearings, and the partial housing may be displaceable with respect to the gearbox housing. Further, the motor may be locationally adjustable with the partial housing in a radial direction defined by an axis of rotation of the motor shaft.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2006Publication date: June 26, 2008Applicant: ThyssenKrupp Presta AGInventors: Alexander Kiforiuk, Christian Staudenmann, Joseph-Leon Strobel
