  • Patent number: 8133053
Abstract: In an electric motor for use in a dental, dental-medical or dental-technical handpiece, having a rotatably mounted rotor and a stator surrounding the rotor, the stator is surrounded by a sheathing having an inner sleeve, on the outside of which there are arranged functionally relevant components of the stator, for example stator winding(s), return plates, and/or contact pins, and an outer sleeve embedding the inner sleeve with the functionally relevant components.

  • Patent number: 7914315
Abstract: A coupling for the production of a releasable connection between a medical, in particular a dental, handpiece part and a supply hose and for the transmission of current and if applicable further supply media from the supply hose to the handpiece part. The coupling includes two coupling elements wherein one of the two coupling elements may be arranged on the supply hose and the other on the handpiece part. A guide element is arranged on one of the two coupling elements, which guide element can be inserted into an insertion opening formed on the other coupling element. In a certain relative rotational position of the two coupling elements a pushing element having current contacts engages into a corresponding recess of the second coupling element, wherein with inserted or at least partly inserted guide element the two coupling elements can be rotated relative to one another around an axis of rotation before attainment of the predetermined coupling position.

  • Publication number: 20100233651
Abstract: In an electric motor for use in a handpiece for dentistry, dental medicine or dental technology, with a rotor held rotatably by a bearing arrangement, and a stator surrounding the rotor, a bearing arrangement has a first bearing located on an end region of the rotor, and a second bearing located on an opposite end region of the rotor, which second bearing is constructed as a movable bearing and is biased in the direction of the first bearing by a spring arrangement. The spring force of the spring arrangement within an operating region is substantially independent of the position of the movable bearing.

  • Publication number: 20100209872
Abstract: The rotor for an electric motor used with a dental handpiece has a shaft with a rotational axis and a magnet arranged around the rotational axis. A centering element may be rigidly connected to the shaft or constructed as part of the shaft. The centering element presses on the magnet from the outside to center it in relation to the rotational axis of the shaft. The centering element may be pressed or shrunk on to two balancing rings. The balancing rings can be pressed or shrunk on the shaft. This allows precise centering of the magnet with respect to the rotational axis of the shaft to be achieved. The pressure exerted by the centering element on the magnet counteracts centrifugal forces during rotor rotation. Particularly high speeds may be achieved without the surface of the magnet exceeding a critical tensile stress.

  • Publication number: 20070087308
Abstract: The invention relates to a medical handpiece, in the forward end region of which a tool can be put in place, having a mounting sleeve for receiving the tool, having a carrier sleeve, in which the mounting sleeve is arranged, having a drive element standing in driving connection with the carrier sleeve, having inner bearing elements likewise arranged on the carrier sleeve, having outer bearing elements, and having roller bodies located between the inner bearing elements and the outer bearing elements. In order, in the event of repair, to be able to exchange only a bearing unit carried by the carrier sleeve or a mounting unit including the carrier sleeve and the mounting sleeve, the inner bearing elements are formed of a one-piece inner bearing sleeve which is releasably attached to the carrier sleeve and carries the drive element.

  • Patent number: 7156021
Abstract: A machine for processing sheets of printing material has a cylinder for transporting the sheets and sheet supports which are mounted such that they can be rotated about a sheet support axis of rotation and in each case contain supporting segments for pressing the sheets onto the cylinder. The supporting segments are mounted such that they can be pivoted as desired into an active position and into a passive position about pivot axes that are skewed relative to the sheet support axis of rotation or about rotary joints determining the pivot axes.
