  • Publication number: 20020096837
Abstract: A seal provides for the gastight separation of a cooling-gas side and an air side of a shaft, in particular a generator shaft, including an annular basic body having a sealing ring and an outlet for a sealing oil. The sealing oil forms an oil film in a radial gap between the sealing ring and the shaft. The sealing ring has segments made of a heat-resistant plastic or of a soft brass alloy which are disposed at the interior of the sealing ring facing the shaft. The plastic or soft brass alloy acts as an emergency lubricant in the event that the shaft comes into contact with the sealing ring. The segments are releasably fastened to the basic body, so that they can easily be exchanged. The basic body is preferably formed of two half-shell bodies.

  • Patent number: 6070881
Abstract: A configuration seals a leadthrough gap between a wall and a shaft which is passed through the wall and can be set in rotation relative to the wall. The configuration has a sealing ring through which the shaft can be passed as well as a holder that can be firmly connected to the wall and has a cylindrical recess and a groove opening into the recess. The groove has a first groove surface and a second groove surface, between which the sealing ring is held while leaving respective radial gaps as well as a chamber that surrounds the sealing ring and can be filled with oil. The radial gap at the first groove surface is blocked to prevent a throughflow of oil from the chamber. The configuration can be used in a sealing system for an electrical machine filled with hydrogen, in particular for a turbogenerator.

  • Patent number: 5563357
Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine includes a stator and a rotor. The rotor is approximately circularly cylindrically disposed relative to a main axis, is rotatable about the main axis and leaves a gap in a recess of the stator which is approximately circularly cylindrical relative to the main axis. An instrument carrier for inspecting the dynamoelectric machine can be inserted along the main axis into the gap and moved there. The instrument carrier includes a frame part which approximately annularly surrounds the main axis and on which a device for carrying out the inspection can be mounted. A multiplicity of rollers are mutually offset, as seen in a plane perpendicular to the main axis, and each is mounted on the frame part so as to be rotatable about an associated axis of rotation. The axis of rotation is aligned essentially perpendicular to the main axis.

  • Patent number: 5233862
Abstract: A configuration for sealing off a duct gap between a housing wall and a shaft includes a sealing ring surrounding the shaft to be set into rotation relative to the housing wall. The sealing ring is sealed off with respect to the housing wall and the shaft. The sealing ring is displaceable relative to the housing wall and is incapable of being set into rotation by the shaft. At least one spring element is to be placed under a mechanical strain by a torque exerted upon the sealing ring by the rotation of the shaft. The strain is determined and a report is issued, if the strain deviates substantially from a predeterminable normal value.
