  • Publication number: 20150358377
Abstract: A handheld wireless communication device (HWCD) establishes an ad hoc network comprising interconnected networks for a user. The HWCD gains access to content on a first device and controls communication of the content from the first device via the HWCD to a second device. The HWCD enables the second device to consume the content. The content may be streamed from the first device via the HWCD to the second device. The first device is a service provider network device or other network device. The access may be authenticated and/or secure. Secure access to the content is extended from the first device to the second device. The ad hoc network is configured and/or reconfigured until communication is complete. The HWCD comprises multiple wireless interfaces. The ad hoc network comprises a PAN, WLAN, WAN and/or cellular network. The HWCD may hand-off among base stations during communication of the content.

  • Publication number: 20070103586
Abstract: A system and method for processing video information are disclosed and may include calculating at least one pixel difference between at least one pixel in a first field and at least one corresponding aligned pixel in a second field. The first field and the second field may be adjacent to a current field. At least one pixel in the current field may be deinterlaced based at least in part on the calculated at least one pixel difference. A first pixel difference between a first pixel in the first field and a corresponding aligned second pixel in the second field may be calculated. A second pixel difference between a third pixel in the first field and a corresponding aligned fourth pixel in the second field may be calculated. The third pixel and the fourth pixel may be adjacent to a current output sample.

  • Publication number: 20070103588
Abstract: Methods and systems for processing video information are disclosed herein and may comprise calculating a first two-field difference between a first plurality of pixels from a current field and a second plurality of corresponding pixels from an alternate field adjacent to the current field. At least one pixel from the current field may be deinterlaced based at least in part on the calculated first two-field difference. The first plurality of pixels and the second plurality of pixels may be aligned by adjusting a phase of at least one of the first plurality of pixels and the second plurality of pixels prior to the calculation of the first two-field difference. The first plurality of pixels may include a plurality of vertically adjacent pixels. The first plurality of pixels may comprise at least one luminance component. The alternate field may include a previous field and/or a next field.

  • Publication number: 20070014477
Abstract: Described herein is a method and system for motion compensation. This system and method use confidence for motion vector selection. Relative cost and an estimate of noise power may be used to characterize residual values and influence confidence determination.

  • Publication number: 20070014484
Abstract: Described herein are a method and system for distinguishing various characteristics of an image and selectively removing them. In video processing applications, the available compression bandwidth may determine the amount of coding loss that will be required. For very low rate encoding, film grain noise may be removed in order to maintain picture quality. For higher rate encoding, the method and system may distinguish a analog noise level from a film grain noise level. According to the film grain noise level and the encoding rate, encoding may selectively remove analog noise and maintain film grain noise.

  • Publication number: 20060274196
Abstract: Methods and systems for processing video information are disclosed herein and may comprise calculating at least one vertical gradient of a plurality of adjacent pixels within a current field. A two-field difference may be calculated between a plurality of pixels within a first field and a corresponding plurality of pixels within a second field. At least one pixel may be deinterlaced within the current field based at least in part on the calculated at least one vertical gradient and the calculated two-field difference. The two-field difference may indicate an amount of motion between the plurality of pixels within the first field and the corresponding plurality of pixels within the second field. Phase shifting may be applied to at least one of the plurality of pixels within the first field and the corresponding plurality of pixels within the second field to effect in-phase alignment.

  • Publication number: 20060002427
Abstract: In a computing system, a method and system for a thin client and blade architecture are provided. A blade may generate video, audio, and peripheral control information that may be transmitted to a thin client (TC) by utilizing a video encoder, an audio bridge, and a peripheral bridge. Communication between the blade and the TC may occur based on a communication protocol that may operate independently of an operating system and/or applications running on the blade. The video encoder may dynamically compress the video information according to network capacity and/or video content and may dynamically select from various compression algorithms. The blade may configure and manage operations that interface with the TC. The TC may comprise a video decoder, a transceiver, a processor, a video display bridge, an audio bridge, and a peripheral bridge and may be adapted to communicate with peripheral devices.
