  • Publication number: 20210383296
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving an indication that a transportation application has been initialized on a computing device and analyzing current dispatch conditions affecting the dispatch of transportation provider devices to the computing device. The method may also include determining, based on the analysis, that the current dispatch conditions allow for an ephemeral ride mode to be offered on the transportation application. The method may further include instructing, based on the determination, the computing device to at least temporarily present the ephemeral ride mode within the transportation application as a selectable option. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20210095979
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for selectively coalescing stop locations of route options in a dynamic transportation matching system. In one or more embodiments, the coalescing controller system generates route scores for driving route options, including route scores for an optimal non-coalesced driving route option and a coalesced driving route option. In some embodiments, the route score can include a driving score, a walking score, and a coalescing factor. Based on the route scores, the coalescing controller system can determine to coalesce stop locations. For example, if the route score of the coalesced driving route option is lower than the non-coalesced driving route option, the coalescing controller system can determine to coalesce stop locations in accordance with the coalesced driving route option.

  • Publication number: 20210049911
Abstract: This disclosure describes a pickup location determination system that determines a pickup location for a received transportation request by filtering out door points based on various factors and by utilizing a pickup location model to select a pickup location from the filtered door points. For example, the disclosed systems generate door points relative to intersection points within a request radius of a request location associated with a received transportation request. The disclosed systems generate potential pickup locations by filtering out door points that are impractical and/or inefficient based on proximity to other door points, locations relative to venues, locations relative to side streets, and/or locations between parallel road segments (e.g., medians). The disclosed systems further utilize a pickup location model to select a pickup location from the potential pickup locations.
