The method includes: determining a network state by use of a network analysis arrangement, taking into account a network partition data set, wherein the network partition data set provides an assignment of lines and/or equipment to the at least one energy transmission network and the at least one energy distribution network. Before a determination of the network state, by use of a network partitioning device based on a topology data set of the electric energy network, the electrical energy network is partitioned into the at least one energy transmission network and the at least one energy distribution network in the network partition data set.
