  • Publication number: 20180066310
Abstract: A technique that uses nanotechnology to electrically detect and identify RNA sequences without the need for using enzymatic amplification methods or fluorescent labels. The technique may be scaled into large multiplexed arrays for high-throughput and rapid screening. The technique is further able to differentiate closely related variants of a given bacterial or viral species or strain. This technique addresses the need for a quick, efficient, and inexpensive bacterial and viral detection and identification system.

  • Publication number: 20180069652
Abstract: An object of this disclosure is to improve the channel estimation accuracy without degradation of transmission quality. Control section (101) configures a predefined number of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) for terminal (200) configured to perform repetition of an uplink signal over multiple subframes, when a coverage enhancement level corresponding to the number of the multiple subframes is smaller than a determined value, and configures, for the terminal, a number of DMRSs obtained by adding a predetermined number of DMRSs to the predefined number, when the terminal applies the repetition and the coverage enhancement level is equal to or larger than the determined value, the uplink signal being formed by time-multiplexing a data symbol with a DMRS in one subframe. Receiving section (110) receives the uplink signal including the configured number of DMRSs and transmitted from the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20180065296
Abstract: The invention refers to a method of generatively manufacturing a three-dimensional object (2) in a process chamber (3) of a generative manufacturing apparatus (1) by a layer-by-layer application and selective solidification of a building material (13) within a build area (10) arranged in the process chamber. In the course of this, while the object is being manufactured, a process gas is supplied to the process chamber by means of a gas supply device and is discharged from the process chamber via an outlet (42a, 42b). According to the invention, the gas supply device is designed and/or arranged relatively to the build area and/or controlled such that a gas stream (40) of the process gas streaming through the process chamber is shaped in such a manner that a substantially elongate oval impingement area (A3) of the gas stream (40) is generated within the build area (10).

  • Publication number: 20180065151
Abstract: The disclosure relates to integrated modules for Synchronized Array of Vibration Actuators (FIG. 125A). The modules provide physical interface, power and communication interfaces. Each module may include vibration actuators (FIG. 123A) which can be precisely attached and aligned to the module housing, a microcontroller or other microprocessor, and one or more sensors for closed loop control of actuators (FIG. 126G). Interleaved pairs of ERMs having a center of mass in the same plane eliminate parasitic torque. A single module can produce a vibration force that rotates at a specific frequency and magnitude, which on its own could cancel out some types of periodic vibrations (FIG. 125B). Two modules paired together and counter-rotating with respect to each other can produce a directional vibration at a specific frequency and magnitude, which could prove even more useful for canceling out a vibration. Such modules are also employed to produce beating patterns (FIGS. 131-133).
