  • Patent number: 11816800
Abstract: In an exemplary process for providing a guided consumer experience, product information comprising an image of a product is displayed. A communication session with a remote user is provided. While providing the communication session, the display of product information is adjusted using information received from the communication session. A representation of the product is displayed in computer-generated reality by capturing an image using a camera, generating a view of an environment by compositing a virtual object representing the product and the captured image, and displaying the view of the environment.

  • Patent number: 11816622
Abstract: Personnel evaluation based on crowdsourcing concepts. An approach to personnel evaluation is described that uses crowd-sourced data and an iterative approach. Individual personnel evaluators are themselves evaluated and assigned weighting factors based on their acumen and accuracy with regard to personnel evaluation. Personnel evaluations are provided by each personnel evaluator, who collectively form a crowdsourcing crowd, and weighted according to each evaluator's assigned weighting factor. The crowd-sourced weighted-averages from all evaluators are combined and used periodically and iteratively to evaluate the individual crowdsourcing participants and to re-calculate their individual weighting factors. The approach provides more accurate and more directed personnel evaluations as compared to simple arithmetic averaging of crowd-sourced data, and is improved with each iteration over time.

  • Patent number: 11814113
Abstract: An air deflection device of a motor vehicle includes an air deflection element and a displacement kinematic system. The air deflection element is displaceable by the displacement kinematic system from an extended deflection position, in which the air deflection element with a deflection surface in a front region of the air deflection element in a longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle diverts an airflow hitting the air deflection element in an underbody region in a forward direction of travel of the motor vehicle, into a retracted position. The air deflection element is displaceable by the displacement kinematic system rearwards in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle and upwards in a vertical direction of the motor vehicle and is pushable back in a direction of the retracted position in an event of an obstacle-related force component acting on the air deflection element in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11813445
Abstract: Mechanical circulatory supports configured to operate in series with the native heart are disclosed. In an embodiment, a centrifugal pump is used. In an embodiment, inlet and outlet ports are connected into the aorta and blood flow is diverted through a lumen and a centrifugal pump between the inlet and outlet ports. The supports may create a pressure rise between about 40-80 mmHg, and maintain a flow rate of about 5 L/min. The support may be configured to be inserted in a collinear manner with the descending aorta. The support may be optimized to replicate naturally occurring vortex formation within the aorta. Diffusers of different dimensions and configurations, such as helical configuration, and/or the orientation of installation may be used to optimize vortex formation. The support may use an impeller which is electromagnetically suspended, stabilized, and rotated to pump blood.

  • Patent number: 11813123
Abstract: Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive, non-radioactive, and low cost technology for diagnosis and identification of implantable medical devices in real time. Developing new ultrasound activated coatings is important to broaden the utility of in vivo marking by ultrasound imaging. Ultrasound responsive macro-phase segregated micro-composite thin films were developed to be coated on medical devices composed of multiple materials and with multiple shapes and varying surface area. The macro-phase segregated in films having silica micro-shells in polycyanoacrylate produces strong color Doppler signals with the use of a standard clinical ultrasound transducer. Electron microscopy showed a macro-phase separation during slow curing of the cyanoacrylate adhesive, as air-filled silica micro-shells were driven to the surface of the film. The air sealed in the hollow space of the silica shells acted as an ultrasound contrast agent and echo decorrelation of air exposed to ultrasound waves produces color Doppler signals.

  • Patent number: 11814486
Abstract: Apparatuses and processes may be utilized for mixing used polyester into a polyester melt. In some processes an intermediate product stream is branched off from an intermediate stage in a virgin polyester production process. The intermediate product stream is then mixed with recycled polyester flakes in a dynamic mixer, where not more than 60% of a melting energy required to melt all the recycled polyester flakes is generated and/or supplied in the dynamic mixer. The mixture produced in this way is fed into a subsequent stage downstream of the intermediate stage and converted up to the desired degree of polycondensation. In this way, it is possible to physically reutilize used polyester or polyester waste.

  • Patent number: 11813650
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a multipurpose casing device (MCD) which controls fluid flow in a filter casing for the primary purpose of directing contaminated fluid (e.g., groundwater) to contact treatment media inside a fluid-treatment cartridge by sealing off an annular space between the filter casing and the cartridge. The MCD assembly also permits hydraulic testing of the integrity of a barrier wall attached to a filter casing by sealing off an inlet or an outlet screen of a filter casing. The MCD assembly allows measurements of physical or chemical properties of a fluid at a specific elevation in a filter casing using hollow core tools connected to an MCD. The MCD can further be used to surge fluids through inlet and/or outlet screens of filter casing that may need to be periodically cleaned.

  • Patent number: 11815476
Abstract: Crystallographic information of crystalline sample can be determined from one or more three-dimensional diffraction pattern datasets generated based on diffraction patterns collected from multiple crystals. The crystals for diffraction pattern acquisition may be selected based on a sample image. At a location of each selected crystal, multiple diffraction patterns of the crystal are acquired at different angles of incidence by tilting the electron beam, wherein the sample is not rotated while the electron beam is directed at the selected crystal.
