  • Publication number: 20240076887
Abstract: A clamp apparatus is used for securing one end of a flexible sheet spanning under tension across a building opening relative to a perimeter beam along the edge of the building opening. The clamp apparatus has a C-shaped channel body having (i) a first flange with a threaded bore therein to receive a bolt defining a first clamping jaw and (ii) a second flange defining an opposing second clamping jaw, whereby the clamp apparatus clamps a perimeter mounted flange of the flexible sheet onto a beam flange of the perimeter beam. C-shaped stiffener plates are mounted externally on the channel body, spaced apart from one another along the length of the channel body in perpendicular relation to the length to reinforce the clamp such that the clamp is able to withstand high wind forces acting on the tensioned sheet.

  • Publication number: 20230366231
Abstract: An insulated wall system for a building includes a sheet assembly spanning across an opening in a building frame. The sheet assembly includes an outer plastic sheet member at an, an inner plastic sheet member at an interior, and a core layer of heat insulating material between the inner and outer sheet members. One or more perimeter boundaries of the sheet assembly includes a tensioning pocket formed on the inner sheet member to receive a frame member therein such that a tensioning mechanism can apply tension between the frame member in the pocket and a corresponding boundary of the building opening to tension the sheet assembly. The outer sheet member is joined to the inner sheet member about a perimeter while the core layer is bonded to both sheet members to transfer tension of the inner sheet member through all layers of the sheet assembly.

  • Publication number: 20230258008
Abstract: An enclosure device for a concrete column formwork uses an envelope comprising a tubular wall portion and a top portion supported on the formwork such that the wall portion extends about a perimeter of the column formwork and extends vertically along a height of the column formwork and such that the top portion encloses a top end of the wall portion. The envelope also has brace openings to receive formwork braces extending therethrough and slots in the envelope communicating between the brace openings and a bottom edge of the wall portion so that the envelope can be lowered downwardly over the column formwork as the braces are inserted upwardly through the slots into the brace openings.
