  • Publication number: 20230002798
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a fermentable sugar composition, wherein a polysaccharide composition is treated by at least one glucoamylase enzyme and at least one oligo-1,6-glucosidase enzyme, and wherein the fermentable sugars are removed during the process. Thereby, the otherwise non-fermentable sugars can be utilized in the fermentation process to yield a fermentation product such as an alcohol or an organic acid or amino acid.

  • Patent number: 11544206
Abstract: The process control unit is configured to execute a plurality of control processes, wherein a first control process executed on the process control unit is configured such that there is no provision for direct exchange of process variables with a second control process, but rather this exchange takes place via an interposed association module. An association specification is used to ascertain the control process(es) to which the process variable needs to be handed over. One advantage includes the increased flexibility in the exchange of process variables, which now takes place in the individual control processes by an association module. Restarts of the process control unit and associated production losses advantageously become unnecessary. Additional resources in the process control unit or in an engineering system may be reduced or avoided. The decreased complexity means that the control systems and engineering systems are developed more easily and hence also more quickly.

  • Patent number: 11509430
Abstract: An automation network provides packet-based communication between the host and a client, wherein the client determines output values from the host in the event of errors in the communication between the host and the client, where the determination of output data can be performed in a separate local processing module in accordance with a less complex method than on the host, such that it becomes possible to perform complex open-loop and closed-loop control tasks on the host even in the case of mobile clients or other clients that are difficult to wire.

  • Publication number: 20220119803
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for engineering a protein in a host cell, comprising the following steps: identifying a protein of interest and introducing the coding sequence of the protein of interest into the genome of the host cell; screening for hotspots for amino acid mutations in the protein of interest; generating a set of specific guide RNAs and libraries of homologous recombination template that generate mutations at the desired sites within the protein coding region; introducing the guide RNA and the library of homologous recombination template into the host cell, thereby producing mutated protein coding regions; screening to select for cells that express the protein of interest with desired activity and/or property from the mutated protein coding regions, thereby providing an engineered protein.

  • Patent number: 11091751
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the recombinant production of a serine protease comprising (a) culturing a host cell comprising one or more vectors, wherein the one or more vectors encode in expressible form the serine protease and a proteinaceous inhibitor of the serine protease, wherein the proteinaceous inhibitor of the serine protease is heterologous with respect to the serine protease, under conditions wherein the serine protease and the proteinaceous inhibitor of the serine protease are expressed; or (a?) culturing a host cell the genome of which encodes in expressible form the serine protease and a proteinaceous inhibitor of the serine protease, wherein the proteinaceous inhibitor of the serine protease is heterologous with respect to the serine protease, and wherein the coding sequences of the serine protease and/or the proteinaceous inhibitor have been introduced into the host cell genome by applying a CRISPR technology, under conditions wherein the serine protease and the proteinaceous
