  • Patent number: 10900651
Abstract: A method and device for aligning a light spot of light exiting from at least one light guide on an optical converter are provided. The device includes a light guide from which light exits and is incident on an optical converter to at least a substantial fraction, thereby forming a light spot thereon, wherein the exit surface of the fiber has an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the fiber which is different from 0°, and the position of the light spot on the converter is aligned by adjusting the angle. A conversion module as a part of a lighting device is also provided that is operated with excitation light of a light source using a fiber-optical light guide.

  • Patent number: 10802191
Abstract: A termination for a light guide is provided that, on the one hand, allows connection of the light guide to a light source in a simple and reliable manner and, on the other hand, blocks light components that are not guided in the light guide. For this purpose, a ferrule is provided for terminating a light guide. The ferrule includes a transparent plastic part and an opaque light-blocking plastic part that are connected to each other to define a channel. The transparent plastic part has a light entry end that receives an end of the light guide. The channel has at least a portion that extends within the transparent plastic part and at least a portion that extends within the opaque plastic part. The has a collar surrounding the channel and has an outer diameter that is greater than a maximum outer diameter of the transparent plastic part.

  • Publication number: 20060128550
Abstract: A process for producing a borate-containing, low-alkali material is provided. The process includes induction-heating a boron-containing melting material directly in an appliance using an alternating electromagnetic field. The, melting material as a constituent includes at least one metal oxide, the metal ions of which have a valency of at least two, in a quantitative proportion of at least 25 mol %, and in which the ratio of the molar substance quantities of silicon dioxide to borate in the melting material is less than or equal to 0.5.
